Hello

I have taken delivery of a new Lenovo Yoga 7i laptop today and have installed V5.

It records perfectly when awake, however it will not wake up from sleep mode to record.

I have enabled sleep timers, allow away mode, removed sign-in to resume from sleep after reading numerous other posts.

If anyone can shed some light on this for me it would be sincerely appreciated as otherwise it will require me to leave the laptop on all the time for recordings.

My logs are attached to see if this can help pinpoint the error.

nrecord.log is the log for the NexpVR Sevice that schedules and makes recordings.  nrecord.log has numerous messages like ...

NextPVR is asking Windows to wake up.  What is the name and time of a show that NextPVR did not record becasue the computer was asleep so that we know where to look in the logs?  You might need to schedule a recording, let the computer go to sleep, wake the computer after the recording should have completed and then attach a new set of logs telling us the show name and time of the failed recording.  Thanks.

Thank you I did as you suggested.

1 - At 21:02 I set it to record 'Mrs Browns Boys Christmas Special'
2 - Put the Laptop in Sleep Mode
3 - At 22:03 I opened the laptop
4 - The folder to record 'Mrs Browns Boys' had been created however there was no recording.
5 - The recording window shows the message:
[Failed: One or more errors occurred. (No such host is known.)]

Your machine isn't even notifying NextPVR that it is waking so you don't have Windows sleep configured properly. Check your BIOS sleep modes and make sure ACPI is enabled.

In this particular case it tried to connect to your IPTV provider, but couldn't find it.

(possibly because your networking was slow to start after waking?)

Thank you for your assistance.

Everything is enabled in the BIOS.

It is waking up on time as the folder is being created for the recorded programme.  However I think it is as suggested that the wireless card is taking too long' to wake up after the machine comes out of sleep and therefore Nextpvr can't connect.

I have looked at options for resolving this but it is a Lenovo problem I think.  It is one of these new Intel Evo laptops and they have really locked down the power management.  For example when I go into the power settings I only get access to |Sleep, Display and Battery options.  The others are not there.  If I install other Power options like 'High performance' they do not appear.

The Wireless card is an Intel AX201 and I have tried changing the MIMO power save mode and the Sleep on WoWlan disconnect but they do not work.  I have tried installing the power option to leave the wireless card on in standby and that does not even work.

So for now my solution is to leave the laptop on all the time and then it will record as required.  (It is a SSD hard drive so it's not spinning away all the time).

Thanks again for your help.

The folder was created when you opened the laptop but nothing happened at 9:28 when it was supposed to open two minutes before recording starts. In this cause it was an immediate recording so maybe the wifi wasn't quite ready but it doesn't explain why the PC didn't wake at 9:28.

I don't see any sleep events logged by NextPVR on resume any more even on my machine either though. I wonder if it is possible that it is waking and sleeping too fast. What is your sleep time and your unattented sleep mode setting. The default is two minutes. Does the Windows event logs show any sleep events around that 9:28 wakeup?
