Sky Channel numbers

Hi

I'm new to GB-PVR (2 days), having used Digiguide and Visual Basic to control my Sky Box.

What I would like to know is, is it posible to get a Start signal, then the Sky channel numbers and an End signal from the com port when I want to record a programme using GB-PVR scheduler?

With Digiguide I could pass the Channel No. to a PIC that then fires ON CH.ID and OFF through an IR diode to the Sky Box. I see there are a couple of options recommended but just fancied the challange and to learn a bit more about GB-PVR.

I tell you what I did. I use a redrat controller (its a usb device), and from GBPVR in the channel changer selection in the capture source setup, I put "call an exe" with parameters of box channel.

This calls a batch file for me, that outputs the power, backupx3, (channel.exe to output) channel digits, backup commands to the sky box.

Things are working but I need a little more info. I can turn the sky box on and using {channel} change to the correct channel, but are there more parameters than just {channel} and is there more documentation I can read?

Please let me know if there is more than just {channel}

{channel} is the only tag the GB-PVR .exe channel changer will replace, everything else needs to be managed by your executable.

I pass --> {channel} plus <--
or --> {channel} digi <--
depending on the channel, allows me to select different boxes for channel changing that way. The batch file/executable then call the right set of signals.
