Please be patient with me, long time former Windows Media Center user here.

I'm located in Australia and believe that the captions here are "Teletext" based.

Assuming both Media Center and NextPVR use the same Teletext based input for captions, I can't help but notice that the captions in NextPVR have the typical Teletext pixelated font when they were nicely rendered in Media Center.

Other issues I've found is that the captions don't always seem to update and only every third or fourth sentence is displayed.

Is there any way in NextPVR to improve the font rendering, possibly the display position of the font, and to optimize the refresh rate of the captions?

Thank you for your suggestions!

I've not seen any reports of this. If you can supply an example recording, I'll take a look

Also supply a screenshot of your closed captions in NextPVR, so I can see what you mean. (what they look like can vary quite a bit depending on the broadcast)

Dont know if this is of any help?

In the UK I have noticed 2 things with subtitles.... (Sorry - closed captions Smile )

1- for a lot of TV they are now transcribed in real time by AI. They can be anything from a few seconds to half a minute behind - This can make them useless if you are looking for a helper (my term - as in you speak the language but are non native, or hard of hearing).

2- They are rendered on the client which can have a significant impact - Kodi on my firestick is just not up to the task and will miss lines and pause to rebuffer often enough to make it unuseable. On my media PC there is no problem.
