I have attempted several clean reinstalls of Ubuntu Server 20.04 to make the combination of Hauppauge Quad-HD, NextPVR and Kodi work. It always works perfect for a few hours and then it all fails - failed recordings, no live TV and inability to scan. Not entirely sure if it always fails with the first scheduled recording or not. Tuners are still visible on WebUI and stay on a rescan for devices. Used Hauppauge drivers, CURL install of NextPVR and Kodi with LightDM. Everything works fine on the same machine with Libreelec. Unfortunately I do need some apps which are not easy to install on Libreelec

Would appreciate any help. I have hit a dead end after trying 5 or 6 installs from scratch.
Log files are attached.

Your scanning files are all messed up.  Use the trash can to delete channels from all your 4 tuners and delete the conf files from the user data folder.

Then scan adapter0 and save it and assign a SD or xmltv guide source and test it. Then open each of the other 3 tuners and copy the configuration.

Upload the logs showing any failures after that.

Thank you so much. I’m not sure what is the user data folder, but did delete a single .conf file from /var/opt/nextpvr. Adapter0 failed to find any channels in an hour. Tried again after reboots with the same result. Log attached. Your suggested Libreelec install without Docker worked beautifully every single time on this machine (https://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?tid=62150). The Libreelec install didn’t involve any drivers from Hauppauge. All other apps were in Docker containers.
It is something peculiar to my Ubuntu install or apps which breaks it. No Docker containers in this. Ubuntu server 20.04, static IP, an NFS mount of a NAS folder, Cockpit, MusicIP, Logitech LMS server, a very old version of Subsonic server, Wireguard, a reverse proxy with DDNS (Nginx, letsencrypt, ddclient), Haaupage Linux drivers, Nextpvr (curl https://nextpvr.com/nextpvr-helper.deb -O), Kodi and LightDM.
I am new to all this coming from a windows world. It’s very attractive but hard. Thank you so much for helping.

If there was only one conf file that would be part of the original problem. If the scan isn't finding a signal I suspect that is your antenna strength (too weak or too strong) You can check dmesg or journalctl for additional errors from your h/w but there is nothing more I can suggest.

The antenna works very well in Libreelec, so its likely to be a software problem. I wouldn’t be able to diagnose anything on my own. I will probably end up running libreelec just for tv and use another computer for the remaining apps. Thank you so much for looking into it.

I solved my problem by using Libreelec. All tuners are working fine. The other apps I needed are running fine in Docker containers - MusicIP, Logitech LMS, Subsonic and WireGuard. Linux is wonderful but troubleshooting is hard for a novice. It would have been impossible to leave windows without resources like this forum. Thank you.

Glad to hear you came up with a workable solution.
