A couple newbie questions

Hi, a few questions from an inexperienced user:

1. I am getting "object reference not set to instance of an object" as if there's a null pointer being dereferenced. It happens every time I view a previous recording and then exit the playback. Not a big deal, but annoying.

2. If I try to play a video file that is letterbox (not recorded by gbpvr, downloaded from the internet) the video is displayed at full tv height, so that the images are stretched vertically. This does not happen in Windows Media Player. I am using the Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder (the only other option is "system default").

3. If I set a program to record from, say, 8 to 9pm, with 0 minutes prepadding and 0 minutes postpadding, why does it still come up in the recording queue as recording from 8 to 9:01?

2) download ffdshow and set it to "maintain aspect ratio" (or something along those lines)

1) reproduce the problem then email your logs to me at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

2) You can press F7 to toggle the aspect ratio

3) Probably just a bug in my logic. If so, it's not a biggy. If you'd had another recording scheduled to start at 9:00, then the second recording would have started on time and the first recording would have finished when you expected.

Reven: it was set to maintain aspect ratio by default.

-Cycling with F7 does fix the problem, but the setting doesn't stick. Is there a place to set this?

-Yes, it will still work, it's just a bit perturbing to have a constant "conflict" even when there is no conflict. No sweat, though. Thanks a lot.

No, its not meant to stick. It just there if you need to use it.

oh jeez, pioneer4x4 is right, the stupid listings have Lost go one extra minute to screw up TiVo recording. Sorry, didn't notice it.
