jorm,
I was going to ask you about this before:

When you go to the xrecord plugin on the wiki, there are a couple of different installation methods listed. Which are you supposed to use, and what does pskill do? I didn't download pskill yet. Wasn't sure what it does.

I installed it with the .exe file, the first option. I downloaded v25 a couple of days ago.

Thanks

There are two installation methods. The zip method which everyone else uses.

And the setup method. The setup method is very new. I added it last release. It seems to work, and provides for an easier install. Now if we continue to have problems with the folder.jpg I might have you use the zip just to make sure everything is the latest.

I would use the setup.exe since it does a lot of things for you.

pskill.. I had added transcoding logic into xrecord before gbpvr did and I still have it in there. I supported things a little differently, you could start transcoding and leave and go back in later and fast forward and such. I wanted a way for the user to stop transcoding so I wrote a little util called pskill that would kill the process given the process name. Not necessary unless you want to use xrecords transcoding.

Let me know if you are still having problems and we will debug it.

jorm,
After reading the wiki a little bit better, I found that hitting the stop button with the folder highlighted it brought up the menu to pick a D1 or D2 art for the folder. I was using VideoArchiver before, and it had folder pictures stored in each folder with the name "folder.jpg". So I was expecting to see those same pictures within xrecord. But I like the xrecord better. I had pictures for some folders before that weren't right.

So, I've got that up and working for now, so I am going to wait to upgrade to the version 25.

Thanks again.

actually I was trying to support the folder.jpg as well. It would look in the art first if not there would check for folder.png, folder.jpg, folder.gif.

Glad all is working though. If you have any suggestions please send them my way.

v27 2005-5-25 (xrecord-setup.zip only) So I finally started converting dvds to mpeg for my kid and realized there was something lacking in xrecord to handle mixed directories (movies). So I created a mixed mode that can be set on a given directory. It will show the list of shows 3 at a time showing the description and the image that matches the title.
Mixed mode. Can set it on the function menu (stop button).
FF/RW move up and down the list of shows a page at a time
Now show file size in the archived video popup.
for skinners please add the following in the skin to support mixed mode

<!-- around the text underneath the show unselected -->
<CompositeImage name="NormalHeteroShowName" size="520,124">
<DrawRoundedRect loc="4,5" size="500,115" radius="10" borderWidth="4" borderColor="White" fillColor="Black"/>
</CompositeImage>

<CompositeImage name="SelectedHeteroShowName" size="520,124">
<DrawRoundedRect loc="4,5" size="500,115" radius="10" borderWidth="4" borderColor="White" fillColor="Blue"/>

Hi Jorm,

I've upgraded GB-PVR and XRECORD to the latest versions a couple days ago.

When using fast find, it does not sort by Genere for me anymore. I use this function a lot and miss it. The top header shows it changing but the listings don't actually pull up. I'm using the default Blue skin right now.

Any idea what would be the cause? Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Thanks

do you have a zapdb? without it it would not work. If you do I will investigate.

Hold on - I just found my problem.

At some point during upgrading either, the main program, xrecord, or my videos, my postupdateepg.bat file was changed. The zapimport command in there was missing. I just fixed the batch file and it all works.

Thanks Smile
