It could be your Kodi buffer is too big and uidroid is on-demand so it can handle those timeouts better. I can't really test with Kodi without being able to find a URL that produces similar behavior. Also you never mentioned Kodi was on Android the problem could even be platform and SOC related.

Unfortunately I have paused development releases of uidroid since the API over the best few versions really hurt my own enjoyment of Live TV especially those skips to zero and crashes changing channels and so I only use it for recordings. I do keep updating personal copies when the Android mediax library change (I use 1.6 know) but that hasn't helped.

Timeshift buffer set as 0, 1 or more on NextPVR Kodi addon has the same behavior.

I have now tested using a much faster IPTV provider with the same results. Playing channels works well from NextPVR web UI.

Apologies if I was not more clear about the architecture of the Kodi/NextPVR addon clients. I have 3 Nvidia Shield SBC devices running on Android 11 and tested with several versions of Kodi & NextPVR client addon.

I also just tested on a Galaxy S24+ device running on Android 14 and newer API version. Odd thing is I notice the same errors in the Galaxy S24 logs BUT I did not see the player close and the timeshift map files kept running and working as they should on the NextPVR server. I have copied Kodi logs from both Shield and Galaxy devices and NextPVR logs.

Issue may be localized to Android 11 or the Nvidia Shield devices themselves..

zipped Kodi and NextPVR logs temporarily hosted here:

You still are having server side network troubles this time with an error message "The request was canceled due to the configured HttpClient.Timeout of 8 seconds elapsing"

So try increasing this in config.xml from 8000 (8 seconds)

<M3U8DownloadTimeout>8000</M3U8DownloadTimeout>

Ah.. I did forget to add that back to the config.xml file after clean install earlier today. I will and test once more, however that did improve the VOD and recording and not the issue with live channels stopping when using timeshift.

The m3u8 from your m3u is giving a a 404 not a timeout now.

2025-04-07 19:13:20.774 [ERROR][18] Download m3u8 failed...

It does continue but that is not right.

I believe the example m3u8 / m3u can be found on both log file examples, working (s24) and not working (shield). Either way, it appears I have located a problem that is present on one system and not the other. I was sharing the logs in an effort to help identify what that difference may be. I will be testing this further.

Hard to say those aren't Kodi. debug logs so I can't tell you much. I can't see why the S24 issued the stopped and your server logs don't go back to when the Shield logs stopped a few hours ago at 17:36 to see what timeout

2025-04-07 17:36:24.033 T:12150 error <general>: CCurlFile::CReadState::FillBuffer - (0x2a243dd390) Failed: Timeout was reached(28)

There are multiple URL's in the m3u but it looks like that both return 404
