Allow accented chars in "Search"

Hello.

For now, the "Search" works for pure ASCII characters. When somebody tries to use e.g. accented characters (like áéíščž...), the search will find nothing - perheaps due to character encoding mismatch.

Sometimes it is possible to select differrent word(s) to narrowing the list and select the wanted recording manually, but sometimes it is not.

It would be nice to have allowed international characters in search.

(I'm using version 7.0.3.250920 on Raspberry OS.)

An alternative solution might be for the search function to "ignore" the accent marks and focus on the base character, for example Cadiz if you search for Cádiz in a program title.

I'm not sure if this alternative would be easier to implement, but it's what browsers do when we perform a Web search.

I don't understand what you mean. My whole ecosystem - server + clients - is Linux, so utf8 is the default. The NextPVR Search page has"<meta charset="utf-8" />". The problem is probably somewhere deeper.

I just did a check here since I added data for your recording issue and there was no trouble searching accented characters.

Perhaps send your logs showing a failure (and again as noted in another thread, the database would help testing)

I tried again right now and search for accented chars works. I have no idea what changed* in the meantime, NextPVR version is still 7.0.3.250920.
