Digital Cable?

I recently set up GB-PVR with a Sapphire Theatrix 550 (same as ATI Theater 550 Pro). I have Comcast Digital cable. The EPG (Zap2it) reports information for all channels 1 to 999, but when I try to tune in anything over 100, I get snow. In my case, 82 comes in fine, then the next channel that Comcast broadcasts on is 120 - snow for this and all higher channels.

Am I correct that this is because the higher channels are digital cable channels and that the card just can't deal? Or is there some way to make it work on those channels too? I have noticed other posts where people reference recording on high channels (e.g. 555 - HBO), so it seems like some people are getting these channels. Is a different card required?

Don't you have to 'fix' your card to the channel of your cable box (usually 3 or 4), and then use some form of IR blaster to access the box?

the fact that you have channels up to 82 and nothing above sounds as if your card may be tuned to the broadcast channels, not the cable channels.

groover is right.

Your card can only tune in analog channels. If you need to also receive digital channels, then you must connect you cable box to the capture card, and use an IR Blaster to allow the PC to change channels at the appropriate time.

It's worth noting, your cable box can only tune in one channel at a time, so if you're recording a digital channel in GB-PVR, you wont be able to watch a different channel via your TV.
