That's cool to know how it works...I hasn't thought of decoding part as a part of HW acceleration, but it seems obvious now.
On a side note: does anyone know how to force a decoder overall? Thankfully you can set it in GB. I have the WM tool and use it, but still, I drop a file into gspot, render it, and it still picks whatever it wants to decode w/.
