My Videos: If I simply use the virtual root settings to point to the same folders (now in different locations), will I get all my downloaded info and pictures back? Or do I have to make changes in My Database?

XRecord: I have recorded shows and archived shows. Again, if I point GB-PVR to the new Recordings directory and point XRecord to the new archive directory, will the shows re-appear in XRecord with all the info intact? Or do I need to use the Export command in some way?

Thanks guys for these superb plug-ins for an already excellent program. Keep up the good work! Big Grin

nope, you wont have change anything. all the videos etc are stored with relative filenames, eg "Enterprise - 2x02 - Carbon Creek.avi" and not "C:\folder1\folder2\Enterprise - 2x02 - Carbon Creek.avi"

Thanks, Reven. Sounds easy peasy.

Would anyone have any thoughts on this XRecord question?

Thanks...

when you archive it does an export you will see .dat files next to the mpegs, it has all of the show info. Xrecord will just use it. Check to ensure the dat files are there they should be, if not hit stop and export all.

Smile Should work fine.

Thanks for the reply, but I'm afraid I'm still a little unsure...

1) Export v Archive? Do I understand the difference? Does 'Export' simply mean 'put a .dat file next to it'? And does 'Archive' mean 'move it to another location and put a .dat file next to it'?

If so,

2) Should I just move my archived shows (and .dat files) to the archives folder on the new PC and they will show up with info intact?

and,

3) Do I need to do an 'Export All' on my recorded shows and then move them (and the .dat files) to the recordings folder on the new PC and they will show up with info intact? (Or do I need to archive each show individually before the move?)

I hope I'm not being too big of a pain, but the 'move' is actually a reformat and fresh install on the same machine, so I can't test what works before I do the big wipe.

Thanks for your patience...

I typically just do export all and then movie it around.

As for #1 you are correct. You do not have to archive individually. Archive is just an export and a move.

#3 should work fine, that is what it is intended to do.

let me know if that is clear.

That's great, thanks.

Just wanted to make sure I had it straight. All set now. Cool
