My Videos rebirth

hey guys im thinking about rewriting my videos and updating it for pvrx2, i was just wondering what were the main features people want to see in this plugin, and if anyone is actually still interested in this plugin.

my goodness.. a dream come true.

two big things on my wishlist for a MyVideosX2:

1. add an option to give a user-defined label/comment to the video, which can then be searched. for example, sometimes you record a show because of something memorable in it, like maybe a talk show or comedy skit.. and you might want to tag the video file or recording with a comment so that you can remember it later when you browse through. i'm not sure how this could be implemented, but it would be a unique feature.

2. IMDB movie and thetvdb episode lookups/scanning that bring in details, screenshots (all that stuff that it did before)..

yeah that will be high on the priority list, since i would use that a lot, and have to work in batch mode (im ripping all my dvds you see ).

the old version had a lot of crap in it that i dont think people used that often, so i just want to focus on what people actually want and make the solid for the time being (ie i wont be putting dvd burning into it for a while, if ever....)

yeah, I always wondered if I was the only one with ripped DVDs of movies and TV shows sitting around that needed a nice batch run to scan 'em all in.

burning files to DVD (just as data) is a very good feature because it's just simple and it works. just select which files you want, and bam its done. just a nice simple data DVD so you can throw anything at it.

Yes, please! It's been so long I don't recall exact features used, but I know I was disappointed when it no longer worked.

I didn't use DVD features, mostly the video/movie archive/db type features.

Looking forward to it.

First, I am eagerly awaiting the return of My Videos...I've been waiting for this to upgrade GBPVR to PVRX2.

Features requirements:
External player
Reads files instead of tags (I have a directory structure I like to keep - essentially keep it like was)


Feature nice to have:
IMDB look up
If a directory only has a Video_TS.ISO file then just mount and play the image instead of going into the directory and having to select the ISO.

well so far all it does is displays in pvrx2, i had to get to setup the dev environment first. i got some other work i need to do first, but ill slow stab away at it (ive setup a mini svn server, so can take the code with me on my macbook so can work on it whenever i get a chance).

What I really liked about the original My Videos was that it remembered how the folders were shown...

Any chance we'll see a My Music rebirth too?
