I've got a couple of files sourced from elsewhere (i.e. not recorded by GB-PVR). One is a .mpg from the internet (the Kylie underwear ad - yes, yes, I know...), and the other is an .avi recorded by a mate on a video camera on holiday.

I dropped them into folder where GBPVR could find them and asked it to play them. In both cases the TV screen is black, there's no sound, and the green bar tells me the footage is 12 seconds long (in both cases it's several minutes).

Both these files play just fine using Windows Media Player (9 and 10).

for avi, you cant play these thru the 350, only mpeg1/2 files
mpeg files must be the same encoding, eg if you have a PAL 350, you can only play PAL mpeg files.

Thanks for the explanation.

OK, can anyone recommend a utility for re-encoding non-PAL mpeg, and AVIs, into PAL mpeg?

Thanks in advance
