PVR-250 Brightness

I have a set-top-box running gbpvr, with a PVR-250.

Is there any way to adjust the recording brightness? On some shows, anything white is totally washed out. On all shows, the brightness is higher than watching the same thing on live tv --- even when watching the video on another system over the network.

Any suggestions on adjusting the PVR-250 picture settings?

For the 150, I finally settled on saturation of 132, contrast of 126, and set brightness to -15. I get good color, decent shadows, and no washouts. Results may vary based on card, vid card, and tv.
