Hi

I think My Pictures is a bit slow...

For a slow PC, like VIA Epia-motherboard, it should be nice to have a background process for making picture-thumbs, at very slow priority.

It is possible to use XP-s thumbsfunction?

no.

just run scan at night when your pc isnt being used, in the morning it will be done. theres absolutely no point to use a batch file, its a only really meant to be used once, and most users probably wont ever use this feature, and just generate them on the fly (once they're in the db loading them is quick).

if your machine is extremely slow you have two options
1. buy a faster machine (yeah im a smart arse)
2. use the list view (thumbnails are only generated or looked up from the db in the other views).

I have been using my watch here and now I know that something must be wrong.

Every plugin I have tested runs smooth. But not My Pictures. I Have now made 4500 small thumbs for my totaly 150 directorys. Every original JPG is about 2MB

In icon mode-> If I enters a picture directory with 58 object showing 11 icons, it takes 21 seconds (for 11 icons! already thummed). Memory consumptions runs from 89M to 280M.

that's what gbpvr is for: for the old and/or slow ones...my opinion

on the other hand: trying to watch 4500 2mb-pictures, even if thumbed, with an old or slow computer may be frustrating Wink

have you ever tried another picture-preview-program? maybe it's not the plugin.
