I have recently bought a Haupauge 150 and have been trying for the past 4 hours to set it up so that GB-PVR can change the channel on the Bell Express Vu unit.

I also cannot get the Hauppauge remote to work. The remote connects to the Hauppauge card and is not USB.

Any Guidance would be great.

Setup:
GB-PVR
Hauppauge 150mce
Althon XP 2400+
Windows XP Pro SP2
ATI Radeon 9600 (128mb)
ASUS A7V8X-X MB
512 MB of RAM

Regards,

Eric:confused:

I am using winlirc and an aftermarket IR transmitter to change the channel on my 3100/2700 bell expressvu box.

Alright I will check but before I do. Here is a little more to my problem.

I see GB-PVR pass the code to the Hauppauge IR cable set in front of my Expressvu box. But no channel gets changed.

Is there someonthing i'm missing there?

I bought this card because it had the remote and it said on the box it was able to control my sattelite dish.

Thanks for the help though

I have the 250 card and it does not have the IR transmitter so I do not know any thing about the 150 card.

Yes, the PVR150 has an IR Blaster for controlling an external set top satellite/cable box, but it doesnt support all models. If your model box is listed and selected in the Hauppauge BlastCfg, then GB-PVR should be able to use it to control your set top box.

I have tried to setup the remote in the BlastCfg and have tried all the combinations of CodeSet in there and could not make it work.

I know that the card is passing the command but the receiver isn't picking up. The BlastCfg only lists makes and not models of set top boxes.

I will open up a support post in their forums (Hauppauge) but if anyone has a solution.

Thanks

I have found my solution. And everything is now working. I guess it's a stupid mistake and should have thought of it before. All I did was put the IR emitter right on the IR Blasters of my Receiver. It is now able to change the channels.

Thanks for everything Smile

Confirmation for all concerned. I have the Hauppauge PVR150 and the Expressvu 3100 receiver. The combination works fine with respect to the IR remote and the IR blaster. Changing a channel with the remote does invoke the IR blaster to change the channel on the satellite receiver (3100).

Note, the IR Blaster must be positioned directly over the 3100's IR receiver. The 3100's IR receiver can be found on the front right side of the unit. You will notice 3 IR nodes (for the lack of a better word). The IR receiver is the 2nd node so place the Hauppauge's IR blaster directly over that node (they provide sticky velcro to achieve this).

Good luck (and of course don't forget to configure the blaster).
