Hello
I have updated my PC and I get some problem with remote control
GBpvr ver 1.4.7
Win7 Home
pvr150,pvr350,usbpvr2 and USB TD
USB TD is used for remote control (45 buttons)

my problem is if I for ex press arrow up or down (same on fast forward 60seconds)
it's NOT moveing 1 step, its some times moving up to 3 steps on one press
On my old PC it's happend some times, but now it's most times

Any ide how to solve this ?
any ide how to change remote from USB TD to PVR150 ?

Sven Åke
I hope this is right forum, if not plese move to the right one

Hi Sven

this problem is related to the Hauppague ir.exe software. I had this same problem when I had one of their USB-DVB tuners and the problem only went away when I replaced it with a Nova-T 500 tuner. The fact that you have one example of every Hauppague tuner ever made (what are you creating there, a museum of Hauppague through the ages!) will only make things more difficult as the ir.exe binds to the first (or last) tuner driver installed. There may be some more info on the Hauppague forum that will help. I think there was a registry entry you can change to direct ir.exe to bind to a different tuner. If you love tweaking, you are now in heaven, if not I would recommend looking for a cheap MCE type remote control instead (I got one on ebay for almost free).OK so I don;t have the volume working yet but the rest if perfect and I can wake the PC up using the power button!. And the response time is 100x better that the hauppague remote.

I also had this issue and I see you have 2 USB tuners. I had 1 USB and 1 PCI and my IR receiver was connected to the PCI. I discovered that that BOTH IR receivers were working. As the USB receiver was at the back of the PC which was against a white wall it too was receiving some (not all) of the IR signal. This caused intermittent double ups and was most frustrating.

Solved with a bit of black tape over the USB IR receiver. Check this out before biffing your 45 button Smile

I had a similar issue as the OP after installing a USB tuner in Windows 7 - the usb stick became the remote sensor which I did not want.
The solution was to re-install the WinTV 88x IR Decoder, which got the sensor on my PCI tuner working again. Like lost@c though, I then had both tuners picking up the remote control, and also used black tape to block the USB sensor.
The registry entry that governs which internal tuner is used is;
HKLM\Software\Hauppauge\HCWTVWND\
VcapFilter="Hauppauge WinTV 88x Video Capture"

(XP 32-bit)
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Hauppauge\hcwTVWnd]
"VCapFilter"="Hauppauge WinTV MOD7700 Control Filter (Dev1) "

(Win 7 64-bit)
I really like the Hauppage remotes - they can so easily be used to control any windows program (that uses keyboard entries) and seem to last forever!
