Thanks for the feedback. I finally stumbled across a recent review from Engadget which states, "a CableCARD tuner requires lots of extra electronics and an $80k CableLabs certification process." Something tells me we won't be able to raise that kind of capital. 
That being said, I'm going to preorder the card. I've already got Windows 7 so all I need to do is upgrade my RAM and get some more storage. Ok, maybe I don't need to upgrade my RAM. I just want to.
