I did this remotely, so I did not try to connect, but I think my problem is solved. When I ran NRecord, I got two prompts: one for UAC and one because NRecord.exe is not from a known publisher. When I said OK for both of those, I think that fixed everything. When I looked in my Logs directory, there was an MVP.log. In ProcessExplorer, I could see the NextPVR.exe -mvpmode task. I killed that & restarted the Service. It started a new NextPVR.exe -mvpmode.
I had upgraded my data hard drive over the weekend. Somehow, in doing that, I had to re-authenticate my Windows. Whatever caused that, probably also made it think my NPVR executables weren't official & I needed to let it know they were OK.
Tuners: SD HDHR Prime (HDHR3-CC). SD HDHR Connect Quatro Tuner (HDHR5-4US) - only QAM. EXVIST H.265 Encoder - capturing cable box.
