I agree with garypaulellis in post 84 "They seem to be happenning when shows are sequential, and when both tuners are being used simultaneously."

If i only record one show at a time its fine.

I noticed the cover to where my cable comes in outside was off today, so i am wondering if its signal problem. I will attached some logs tomorrow - showing successful and unsuccessful recordings. I'm fine with reformatting and reinstalling GBPVR from a clean XP install, i just thought some other people might be having the same problem.

thanks for the quick response

If some one can find a reproduceable set of steps, and describe exactly what needs to be done to get it to happen - then I'll absolutely fix it. Everything described in this thread has been pretty vague.

I had this happen recently when one of my tuners was going bad. The Asus tuner below would not stop at the end of the show, then a couple days later would cause GBPVR to freeze when stopping live TV, and finally was causing the whole computer to freeze coming out of standby.

I removed it everything cleared up. See if it is HW related.

Here are my logs i just closed pvrx2 and Pending is showing Survivor, My Name Is Earl, Ugly Betty as recording, all starting at 8pm and its now midnight (should have ended hours ago)

There was talk of something in post processing - which i havent changed, and i dont think its even getting that far.

I checked the mpgs Ugly Betty is 4megs, Survivor is 7 megs, Earl 97mb - all with a time of 7:59 pm.

The recordings (1 at a time) earlier in each day have recorded fine. I Installed 1.3.7 over 1.3.11 last night since this problem happened right after the upgrade. Same thing. (i know, probably not the best idea)

i also got a windows error last night, also attached as a jpg

Hi, I am based in Dunedin NZ and have what appears to be the same issue running 1.3.11, recordings not finishing at the end of programes with the recording service saying it is still recording. I have attached my logs for the following:

1. I deleted all logs and restarted my HTPC
2. I scheduled to record:
TV2, Relocation Relocation, 7:30 to 8:30pm 14/3/09
TV2, Deep Blue Sea, 9:30 to 11:40pm 14/3/09
3. Relocation Relocation recorded successfully 2.12Gb
Deep Blue Sea shows in PVRX2, 2 recording attempts one as Failed the other as Ready, both have the same date time details. One file was created, is watchable 4.45Gb.
4. I then sheduled at approx 9:50am 15/3/09 to record:
TVNZ6, Hurray for Huckle, 9:35 to 10am 15/3/09
TVNZ6, Kid Zone, 10:00 to 10:05am 15/3/09
TVNZ6, Hurray for Huckle, 10:05 to 10:30am 15/3/09
TVNZ6, Kid Zone, 10:30 to 10:35am 15/3/09
5. Results were:
Ready, 1 entry, 1 file 271Mb - Hurray for Huckle, 9:35 to 10am 15/3/09
Didn't stop recording - TVNZ6, Kid Zone, 10:00 to 10:05am 15/3/09
Didn't start recording - TVNZ6, Hurray for Huckle, 10:05 to 10:30am 15/3/09
Didn't start recording - TVNZ6, Kid Zone, 10:30 to 10:35am 15/3/09
6. Stopped recording Service, quit GB-PVR tray exe and zipped attached logs.
7. Executed GB-PVR tray from startup items and restarted recording service.
8. PVRX2 now reports:
1 entry, 1 file 271Mb - Ready, Hurray for Huckle, 9:35 to 10am 15/3/09
2 entries, 1 file 55Mb - Ready, Kid Zone, 10:00 to 10:05am 15/3/09
No File - Failed, TVNZ6, Kid Zone, 10:30 to 10:35am 15/3/09
1 entry, No File - Failed, TVNZ6, Hurray for Huckle, 10:05 to 10:30am 15/3/09

I am using a Hauppauge HVR-4000, analog tuner for PRIME only, DVB-s for all other channels. I see these issues a lot and I believe always when multiple programs are scheduled to record contiguosly. It desn't appear to make any difference if the recordings are scheduled using PVRX2 or my MVP. I can confirm the MVP was turned off when these tests were done and the HTPC was not being used for any other activities. My EPG data is from "http://epg.pvr.geek.nz/epg/listings-all.xml.gz" for both recording sources. Hope this makes sense and provides some more information to help get this issue resolved.

Just wanted to update, i reinstalled windows, and GBPVR (i did copy my old GBPVR folder over what was installed) and i'm having the problem again - so its either GBPVR 1.3.11 or hardware problem, not a windows thing.

Your best bet is to try to spot the pattern to when it happens. Hopefully then we'll be able to reproduce it, at which stage I'm sure I'll be able to fix it.

OK, time for me to join in. I have had the problem too.

Newly built Vista machine, fresh install of v1.3.11, with Cyberlink mux, comskip and a custom postprocessing.bat.

First encounter: I had a Nova-TD dual tuner stick installed and told it to record two programmes sequentially on the one channel. It started each on a separate tuner and left both running forever.

Second encounter: I had added a Nebula DigiTV (BDA drivers) also, making total of three tuners. To test this, at about 10:58 I set up three manual recordings using the web interface: all were 11:00-11:03, on three different channels.

All three started as expected. The Nebula (third source) successfully ended its recording on time and went into postprocessing. The two Nova-TD tuners kept going until I eventually restarted the GBPVR service.

Logs of the latter incident are attached.

This is still happening any time I have sequential recordings scheduled. I have just noticed that when the recording service hangs after a recording and I restart the service the Recording Status window still says it is recording the programes when it hung even though new recodings have started in the PVRX2 application.

Looks like I might be having a similar problem.

First occurrence

1. Had two shows waiting to record one at 8:30 and one at 9:30 both on the same DVB-T mux. Using the latest gbpvr, it recorded the 8:30 show and just kept on going at 9:30 with the same show name as the 8:30 show. The 9:30 show didn't get recorded (well it did as a continuation of the 8:30) with its own name

2. Had a recording scheduled for Noon to 1. It was still going at 2pm when I manually tried to kill it from gbpvr. No dice - warned did I want to cancel the show - said yes but the recording continued.

Anything in the logs that could be useful and if so, which ones?

Thanks
