I have a PCH 100 running the 18apr mvpmcx2. Most of the GBPVR functions I want are there now.

Just noticed there is no 5.1 surround sound anymore with GBPVR (last week's 24 - OTA ATSC). There is 5.1 surround if I play the same file using the PCH interface. I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere.

I don't have digital coax/optical in my dev, environment so this is quite possible, In fact I only have a 15" HD monitor (no 42" close up's) and I'm not a heavy GB-PVR user, so I expect most problems to come from user feedback. I'll see what I can do to fix this.

...Sub really needs to do the work to optimize the OSD at this point. The updates come too often (even on the the MVP) and because so much data has to be written with HD I even have to skip some updates. On top of that I find it gets cleared too early....

the osd gets cleared far too early for me. maybe an option to manually toggle the display with the remote could be implemented.

Martin, I understand that the handling of HDMI attached PCHs are improved in later releases (meaning that it will not crash and default to the "old" way of handling things. Should i keep the setting "<MVPClientType>PCH</MVPClientType>" for my PCH that is still with HDMI and only change to "PCH2" for the PCH with component or should I make the change to "PCH2" for both?

You can use the blue button for that, or do you mean something else?

as far as i remember (i'm not in front of my pch now), even when you press the blue button the osd disappears after a short while. what i mean is to let it always on as long as i wish. and release it with another button press.

@Turas, I have mentioned several OSD issues to sub, some going back to my work for the MVP but I don't know what his plans are. I have considered implementing something that toggles on the Info button.

@agerdin PCH mode is definitely recommended for HDMI, in PCH2 mode audio tracks come one at a time, and the OSD commands still get sent and have to ignored.

Ok, thanks, if I understand you correctly I can go ahead with the upgrade but as long as I keep the "PCH" value for my unit connected with HDMI I should be OK? and I will enjoy the new "stuff" with my other unit.
