Since upgrading versions, SOMETIMES when I am watching a recording, and I hit the stop button on my MVP remote, the video will stop, return me to the menu. When I go back and look at the directory where the vieo I was just watchign was located, it is GONE- deleted. ANy ideas what's happening? [QUOTE]

Same problem here. I tried recovering the recording with a file recovery utility. Got a file of about the right size but turned out to be 20 minutes of the file I wanted plus 40 minutes of another file I had deleted from the PC. Hopefully SUB can shed some light.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (Guest @ Mar. 19 2005,05:53)]There was a tile added to the last version that showed up in the top right corner of the blue skin, it showed the time and next recording. What happened to it? Is there any way to bring it back? I LOVED IT!!!
Edit the skin.xml in the 'Main menu' folder from your favourite skin. At the bottom you will see the 'plugin channels' commented out. Remove the '<!--' and '-->' strings around the <SpecialElement> lines.

That funciton will really make your log files huge, so take care if this is an always on system w/ few restarts. If it's not, nm me.

When using Manual Recording from the Recordings screen I get an error "Object Reference not set to an instance of an object". It works fine with the default Blue skin but fails with any other skin I have tried. Currently using the "Digital plus - E" skin. Anyone else getting this. BTW tried a clean install to no avail. [Image: sad.gif]

Sorry scratch that. I've realised it's just a skin problem and not a release issue.

The skin file changed. I can't recall what it used to be, but if you look at the skin.xml file in the blue recordings subdirectory and compare it to the one you are using you should see a chnage. I thin kit is in the Special Elements section if I remember correctly.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Sub,

Does this apect-ratio work on the mvp?
Nope, only Hauppauge would be able to implement this.
Hi Sub,

Chuck here, back again !
I an using a Nebula digital card for all broadcasts now ( they will be adding BDA drivers later this year ) the files it is producing are mpeg PS files, but are all in 16:9.
It would be good to have a switch for the Sigma X Card to change aspect ratios; this would allow 4:3 material that has black bars on left/right & top bottom to display at full size on a 4:3 TV

thanks
Chuck

Not sure if someone has mentioned this, but I don't like how the back button will actually close GB-PVR now when at the Main Menu.

Sometimes the computer will be a little slow to respond to the pressing of the "back" button, so my wife will hit it again. Then she ends up at the Windows desktop and pissed. LOL

It's a lot to read, but I think that was answered 2x here already (I asked same question a while back). Reven answered w/ this:

sub added
<ExitOnEsc>true</ExitOnEsc>
to the config.xml file, which allows you to exit gbpvr when you press escape (which is the back button). just change it to
<ExitOnEsc>false</ExitOnEsc>
if you dont want it to exit (thats what i did).

It's back....the files that wouldn't delete. This time it looks like you can see it in the logs as being something other than just the inability to delete. Below is the following:
a) When I started watching
b) a delete attempt (if it's relvant)
c) the channel change
d) the attempt to stop (froze on screen, but timeshift recording continues in background)
e) the forced close (restarting recording service, after c+a+d gbpvr.exe
