What is an "external server"? ... And what is NextPVR V2?  Thanks.
I mean to be able access an external host, for example a server in a different location not under the same network,  Current apple TV NextPVR version is version on the AppStore.
For NextPVR V4 ... Settings -> Clients -> Allow remote access
For NextPVR Server V5 ... Settings -> Access -> Allow remote access

That activity is already done, because i'm using the app on the iphone and android tv but on Apple TV i don't have available "Add" button from top-right corner. My point here is where i can find that Add button.

I apolgise for missing the point ... And for not knowing the answer ... I don't use the Apple app ... Someone who can actually help will be along soon

This app is designed for use on local networks. It plays full bitrate streams, so unless you've got very fast, consistently reliable internet, it would be unlikely you'd be able to play from a server across the internet.

The next release does allow you to manually add a server, but this feature was specifically about people with multiple network subnets, where auto discovery wasn't able to work. This feature would allow you to try a remote server, but full bitrate streams would be a challenge for most people's home internet.

Hi Sub,

thank you for letting me know, if you want I can help and test the beta version on Apple TV,  if the logic will be the same as per android TV for sure will not be a problem.
thanks

The android app allows for transcoded or native streams.

The iPhone app also allows for transcoded or native streams.

The AppleTV app only plays native streams, so not suited to use across the internet.

Do you know, when the new version will be available on the Apple TV ?
 Thanks

Hopefully in the next week or so. (I know I've said that before, then got distracted with other stuff, but definitely this time Big Grin)

When I select TV Guide it shows the date in the upper right corner, the times across the top and a vertical bar all the way down (it would divide the channel names from the show info). At the lower left of the screen it says 'Show Title' and below that, 'Label'. Where the channel names and show listings would be is all blank, just black screen. If I press the select button on the remote or the down arrow, it crashes. Using the left or right arrow buttons to get into LiveTV or Recordings is fine.

I'll attach a picture...
I know we'd seen a few reports this in the past. I'd hadn't seen it myself, but managed to reproduce it today when I was testing some other stuff.

It was fixed by going to the Settings screen and selecting 'All Channels' from the group selector. After that it'll function fine.

Sub, that seemed to work. I guess I never thought to try it because All Channels is the only choice so I assumed that was the default selection and never explicitly set it. Oh well..

Thanks for following up on this. It makes the AppleTV app much more usable.
