johnsonx42 Wrote:wow, been awhile since any activity in this thread. must mean Netflix Viewer is working well for everyone.

I have a minor issue, wondering if it's just my system as no one else appears to be having the problem...

since upgrading to the latest, 3.6.1.3, when exiting the viewer I've found it often if not always leaves behind an open internet explorer window with the Netflix page of whatever show I was viewing. sometimes there are multiple tabs open. we've learned to close them with the remote (power button sends Alt-F4, then OK if it shows the Close All Tabs? diaglog), so it hasn't been too much trouble. But I never had this with any previous version.

Thoughts?

I have a fix for it, but wanted to test it on my setup for a while to make sure it worked. And then I proceeded to forget to post the update. I'll have it posted today. Big Grin

New version is posted. Also, FYI to anyone interested. Netflix is adding user profiles to their site, so I will attempt to integrate this into my next update. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/12..._hp_ref=tw

OK, so I thought I had it fixed but was still getting occasional phantom IE problems. I also didn't like that Arrested Development was not loading to the last viewed episode, so I have made some changes and I think I have the phantom IE window issue solved. Turns out it is a well known bug in the webbrowser control, so I think I have it licked. Also Arrested Development loads properly now Big Grin. I also sped up the episode loader. Hope you all like it.

Having more problems than ever with the new version. During startup The IE window pops up over the program in the foreground, but without focus so I can't even close it with the remote. I'm working around it, but it's a mess.

Are you using the auto login feature?
Is it only during startup that you are getting it popping up, as in before you select a movie or anything else?

when I startup I get the prompt from your program saying it appears I've not logged in and that I should login when the browser window appears; I have logged in already though, and "remember me" is checked. The browser window does appear briefly, then goes away. Then the viewer program appears; when I select a show from the list, as it says it's "downloading episodes" the IE window appears again, with two tabs open to the netflix page for that show. The ie window is in the foreground, but keyboard focus is still on the netflix viewer (I can see the selection bar move when I hit the arrows). the way I've been able to work around it is to hit the key on my remote that loads/focuses NextPVR.exe, then close NextPVR with the power button (alt-f4), then the Netflix viewer is back in the foreground with focus; the IE window is still in the background, but I can close that later when I'm done.

I run in Queue-only mode if that changes anything.

I've tried Autologin=false and true in the .ini file, with no observable change.

Oh, I just noticed that I've not done windows updates in awhile, and still have IE8. You're probably using IE9 in your testing, so maybe that's what's different? I'm updating now, will report back.

So, is it not showing the login screen and is just disappearing? Based on the webpage shown you are obviously logged in, but note that my proram and IE operate in different permission modes in windows 7, so you may need to log in on my program even if you are logged in through IE.

I'll test queue only and see what I get.

Autologin=True will not log you in, unless you also go into the options screen and enter your email/password. Note that your credentials are stored encrypted locally on your computer and are never transmitted, except to log you into Netflix.com. Mostly you only need to use this if you have parental controls enabled, because my program autologs you out when you close my program, so your kids can't access Netflix even though IE. This might be why you were asked to log in when opening the program. So it is safest to have autologin=False if you don't have your email/pass entered.

Yes, i am using IE9 on all of my computers now, let me know if that makes a difference. If not, then I'll start testing in queue only mode with my autologin disabled.

ok, running IE9 stops the IE windows from appearing in the foreground, and setting AutoLogin=true and entering my credentials in the Options dialog fixes the "you didn't login" problem. Autologin=false doesn't seem to work right for me - it always thinks I haven't logged in, even though I have (and I did try logging out in IE, then logging in through your window, but it still prompted the next time I ran it).

I do still seem to be getting an IE window leftover after watching sometimes (but at least they're in the background). I just tried The Walking Dead again and the IE window left open with 3 tabs open to that show's page; then I tried my kids' Turbo Dogs show, and didn't get any IE window.
