I don't know if it's any use to you Sub, but I'm in the UK and I'm receiving freeview via a shared TV receiver via a 12db booster to split the signal that goes into two Nova-T recievers.
The patch you posted works and the unregistering of the gbpvrtsmon also works for me. Before it would crash every time when checking the 6th signal set thingy. Maybe you could just do a sneaky patch to the config app that silently unregisters the file before scanning and reregisters it after scanning. Maybe with a check each time the software starts to make sure it's still registered in case the config app crashes before reregistering it.
