Updating the server to have the same files made no difference.

On the server itself though, things are more positive. I never really had a problem with skips, and skipping in the new test version seems fine too. Pause/resumes in recorded files *appear* ok, but my non-resumption after pause problems were rare, so it might be a while before I know if that issue reappears or not.

Pausing in Live TV is not quite as good though. I get no video back after the first pause (for a given channel), and can only get it back by either pausing/playing again or skipping. All subsequent pauses (until I change channel again) seem ok. The time from pressing Exit to getting back to the main menu is noticeable longer too.

Looks hopeful though!

This update should fix imilne's problem with playing from a client PC.

It should also fix bluethunder's problem with missing AAC audio from his Colossus.

It may be better on the Colossus but HDPVR LiveTV with AC3 playback is even worse. Recordings are fine.

It shouldn't have made anything worse. It was just changing the type of AAC audio pin created.

I've now hooked up my HDPVR to try reproducing your problems. I'm watching live tv via the HDPVR, driving it with an NMT configured to output NTSC over component video. I dont see any obvious problem. What exactly are you seeing there? Do you need to skip to see the problem?

That is odd, and I cant think why that would be. Out of curiousity, have you tried other decoders? If some others work fine, then its probably related to the media types being not fully compatible with the decoder you're using, and would give me a starting point for investigation.

BTW, I'm using the Arcsoft decoder for H.264

Sorry I had to take a break and watch the race, there was quite a fire that the driver thankfully walked away from Anyway I tried with Arcsoft and instead of that blurred pixelized video with reasonable audio, it just jumps by frames and the audio is really broken up. Both in-progress and finished recordings play fine.

Odd. Is this NTSC you're using, or some other res?

That one is 720p. 480p is better it only breaks up a bit, and 1080i is like the 720p but it seems to crash more often (in ffmpeg). They are all 5:1 dolby though.

Also the 480p still takes a long time to switch to 4:3

Code:
2012-02-27 22:23:16.489    [DEBUG][1]    StartLiveTV@done
..
2012-02-27 22:23:24.533    [DEBUG][1]    audio renderer now AC3
2012-02-27 22:23:24.533    [DEBUG][1]    Dynamic reference clock set to: AC3 Audio Renderer
2012-02-27 22:23:24.533    [DEBUG][1]    Reference clock was already se correctly. No change required.
....
2012-02-27 22:23:38.288    [DEBUG][1]    Aspect ratio now: 4x3
2012-02-27 22:23:38.288    [DEBUG][1]    Resolution is now: 720x480
2012-02-27 22:23:38.288    [DEBUG][1]    Source Aspect Ratio: 4x3

With reader it is a couple of seconds

Code:
2012-02-27 22:26:51.313    [DEBUG][1]    StartLiveTV@done
2012-02-27 22:26:51.394    [DEBUG][1]    audio renderer now AC3
2012-02-27 22:26:51.394    [DEBUG][1]    Dynamic reference clock set to: AC3 Audio Renderer
2012-02-27 22:26:51.395    [DEBUG][1]    Reference clock was already se correctly. No change required.
...
2012-02-27 22:26:53.950    [DEBUG][1]    Aspect ratio now: 4x3
2012-02-27 22:26:53.950    [DEBUG][1]    Resolution is now: 720x480
2012-02-27 22:26:53.950    [DEBUG][1]    Source Aspect Ratio: 4x3
