I've already tried both login methods several times, no change in behavior.

ok, I got it working...

I decided to try enabling Auto-Login one more time, and when I went to set the login name and password I found it was still set even though I'd thought I wiped out everything before re-installing 3.7.5 and updating to 3.7.5.2 as well. Then I remembered I had previously found another config directory in addition to the main one in C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Roaming\DHGB256; sure enough I found it at C:\Users\Dave\AppData\Local\DHGB256\Netflix_TX_Desktop.exe_Url_4s4v5puqytycvwahfqir5jhi0aq30fpl\3.7.5.2, and it contained a user.config file. So I dumped that, and re-installed again, and now it works. The old user.config file looked the same as the new one, so it wasn't corrupt or anything but clearly something in there wasn't set right.

edit: and of course now I see you already told me to delete c:\users\dave\appdata\Local\DHGB256 before installing 3.7.5.2. I read past it fast and assumed you were talking about the other one in Roaming I have to go into every time I upgrade to set "QueueOnly=True". Argh! Thanks for the help, even if I didn't read it carefully and thought myself oh-so-clever for eventually figuring it out on my own! none of this explains why it quit working in the first place, but we won't worry about that...

Awesome, glad to hear you got it working. The only thing I could think of was that your access token expired somehow, which would then keep the API from giving you the queue data. I'm going to look into making the appdata/local directory delete when you uninstall, so this isn't such a hassle in the future.

another thing I'd find helpful is if when you first run the program and it sees there is nothing in the database, instead of automatically exiting and starting the database build process, ask the user whether they'd like to enable Queue-Only mode. Every time I upgrade it resets Queue-Only back to false, and I have to remember to edit the .ini file else it immediately starts building the database which would take hours.

During install it is not supposed to overwrite your ini file if present, I'll get that fixed.

Just a heads up to my users, it looks like Netflix is retiring their API in November. I am bugging them to see if I can get continued support after it is closed and hopefully if I squeak enough they will oil me. I will keep everyone up to date, but I am not giving up yet. If I don't get support then my program will cease to work after 11/14/14. If you would like to help, you can call (1-800-585-7265) or online chat (https://help.netflix.com/help) with Netflix and request that my program keeps working.

Well my program is doomed...

Thank you to everyone who used the program and helped debug, but I have been informed by Netflix that they will not consider allowing me to use their private API. Netflix has decided that their public API is not worth the trouble, so no more 3rd party apps. As of 11/14/14 you will no longer be able to use this program.

sorry to hear that; probably kind of makes you feel like you (and other devs) were just wasting your time. It was a good app though, I used it quite a bit. Many thanks.

Thanks for the condolences Smile I refuse to count the number of hours I "wasted" on this app...too depressing.

My primary concern right now is figuring out what to use once this shuts down, I may have to use a wireless keyboard until I find something. I'm looking at Roku and Fire TV chiefly right now, but that will requiring switching back and forth between my HTPC and the other device.

I've actually been using my samsung blu-ray player for netflix more often lately for a few reasons... my htpc has had some problems unrelated to your app but which often caused problems with watching netflix. I really wish Fred250's samsung NextPVR app worked better on my F-model blu-ray. Apparently the newer H-model samsung blu-rays work much better with his app and of course have Netflix and all the other streaming services, so you might want to try one of those.
