New Skin: Contour

Interesting. It's been a while since I originally installed it. I'm certian it's not My Pictures. I see a post that mentions a Pictures plugin and a My Pictures plugin, but I don't see the Pictures Plugin on the wiki. Bummer. I probably didn't want to do the My Pictures because I didn't want to hassle with another database.

I've tweaked the weather skin a little to accomodate for long forecast descriptions. It's also using the horizontal format:

After learning about the subtitle property for recordings yesterday, I modified the recording details view to include it, as shown. Less space means the titles wrap sometimes, but I like seeing the subtitle.

My modified recordings skin file is attached.

First, I really like the ContourHC skin. I wanted to learn more about skins, so I reworked the xml file for the Stocks plugin. I have attached a ZIP file. Since this is the first time I've worked on a skin XML file, it's probably a good idea to backup the XML file if there is one. Unzip it in the ~\gbpvr\skin directory.

Rename it as skin.xml in the recordings folder under the Counterhc skin folder (you should probably backup the existing skin.xml first)

Did you notice that in Main Menu, Recordings, Video Library, Audio Library, etc that the text of the screen discription in the upper right corner is truncated?

Also, how do I get the weather to show up in the main menu?

If your trying to get the weather in "info" section, you need to install Video Archiver plugin so you can get the VA Panel. Its really great panel that can display lots of different info. Recordings, weather, VA status, Stuff like that.

If your trying to get it the plugin to appear on the menu itself, install the plugin and it should appear as a menu item, if its enabled in the config. If it doesn't you should check your logs for errors. Many times its related to a skin file not finding a requried element.

The screen title is truncated? Looks fine to me on my test box and production PVR. Could be you have overscan issues.
