Hi! I've been messing around with ComCut and I finally got it working pretty well with Mencoder, although it seems to skip every other file for some reason. ComCut's error.txt file is blank. I split up an hour long show into 5 pieces, and then ran them all through ComCut in batch mode. Pieces 1, 3, & 5 came out perfect, while 2 and 4 weren't touched. Any thoughts? Great program! -Jon

Yeah, that's a bug. For some reason I was incrementing my for variable inside the for loop... I actually started working on rewriting the batch code, but I never finished. I'll see if I can fix that quickly.

EDIT: A new version is up on my website. I've also included a link to mencoder for those that have had trouble finding it. Also, this is a beta version. I had started to make some changes but I haven't been able to finish them. For example the Browse buttons aren't working right now.

BTW, if anyone wants to help me develop it (VB.net), feel free to contact me. I'm fine with providing the source code.

Thanks Niteshdw! I'm using 1.2 build 88 and I tried to run in batch mode, and it show the correct file name in the status window, but it skips over "process comskip log" eventhough there's no comskip log created, and I have "always run comskip even if log already exists" and goes right to "cut mpeg2 file".

Dumb question maybe, but if using the gui, how does it know where mencoder is if it's not included in the three Program Locations? I tried mpgtx.exe too, but still trying to figure out why it puts a checkmark next to "Process Comskip Log" but then has an arrow on "Cut MPEG2 File" and seems to stay in a constant loop until I manually close the gui.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

My experience with comcut is the same as what Deusxmachina just said.

Can someone explain... in simple steps... how to get comcut to work with mpgs that have already had comskip run on them and have the comskip frame marker file generated by comskip so the output of comcut is an mpg file with commercials removed.

Thanks

Never mind... I figured it out. Basically, I needed to get the 1.2b82 version of comcut. Then put mpgtx.exe in the same folder and 'viola it worked.

Hi,
Been using your program for awhile and very happy with it.
Saw a beta was up so of course I was going to download it.

I downloaded it and the programs associated with it from you website, thanks for the links.

Well on my machine AMD 3200 with XPPRO SP2
Comcut starts and I go to configuare it. It can't browse the dirs, I see that is not set up yet so I enter them manually.
I browse to a newly recorded file and hit start batch mode.
comskip starts, then finishes. Then it just sits there running idle?
I leave it 10 minutes still no progress.
So I close and restart my machine. Run comcut again. The file locations have disappeared?
What do you think I am missing.
Memcoder is in the GBPVR root along with comskip, mptx, ect.
Was running cutterman before?

Don't use the last build

I rushed to meet the last user's request about a Batch Mode problem. Between the previous version and the latest I had made substantial changes to the codebase but hadn't tested them.

Build 88 doesn't work. I'm ironing out the bugs of version 1.2 right now, so I hope to get a build up in the next 24 hours.

I apologize for jumping the gun on that last build.

No problem.
I test for a few companies and it happens.
