I've noticed that the EPG is updating the tvguide.xml files, but these updates are not appearing in the TV guide! The tvguide.xml file is updated until wednesday at midnight, but the guide only shows until tuesday at 8:00! Any ideas?
Ending before midnight is normal and the exact time it happens depends on your time-zone, the native GBPVR zap2it plugin works the same way.

Don’t rush the setup procedure outlined in ReadMe-Now.txt, it only needs to be completed one time.
It’s probably best to open GBPVR config, empty your EPG manually, and then "ok" out of config and verify you have no listings in the guide.
The image in this post shows how to properly configure GBPVR to use TVGuide.xml

Using the steps above, you will have a guide with the enhancements, or nothing at all. If the guide is still empty, follow the steps outlined in ReadMe-now.txt and try the procedure again.

Note / Reminder: In posts above this one, we’ve been discussing delivery problems Zap2It has been having for the last month. I’ll also post the links here.
Configure everything normally using the wiki version, if you have reliability problems, or your guide does not show the number of days you selected, download and install the update from post #133.

Then follow the steps outlined in post #139 to fix network MTU issues.

I don't think you are understanding. I set up i-xmltv and it worked: the tv shows in the guide have a * by them and episode numbers, and everything. However, the xml file is not loaded properly in the tv guide. If i open the tvguide.xml file in notepad, I can see it has entries up until 200609140000 +0000. however, in the tv guide in gbpvr, it only shows until tuesday, 9/12. For some reason it is not refreshing the guide listings. Has this happened before?

Your browser may not have refreshed properly when you originally read my reply. We've been talking about the issue you're having in the last few posts above your question. I added links to the posts (shortly after it was created) for future reference, and to bring the topic up-to-date.

Well I fixed it, but it was a strange fix. After downloading the patch, I ran it, but still no results: gbpvr would not load the xml file when I updated the epg. On a hunch, I renamed updateEPG.bat and viola -- gbpvr loaded the xml file perfectly. So I have simply set the batch file to run as a scheduled task every morning. Rather frustrating fix, but it works now.

I don’t want people to have the idea that they will have better results using task scheduler, because that's simply not correct.
Think about it, GBPVR calls/uses UpdateEPG.bat to download xmltv listings before the actual EPG update. If UpdateEPG.bat works when you click on it, and in the GBPVR folder for myself and others, why doesn’t it work (for you) when it’s called by GBPVR?

If GBPVR fails during the EPG update, you should post your logs and problem in the support forum for sub.
Re-enable UpdateEPG.bat in the GBPVR folder, set GBPVR logging to debug, update your EPG, and zip/post the resulting GBPVR logs.

I’ll watch the topic to see if there is anything I can contribute. Smile

Actually, I have a feeling I know what the problem is. I think GBPVR runs updateEPG.bat, but it runs the epg update when the batch window closes. I already had some things in updateEPG.bat that opened in new windows, so I called c:\i-xmltv\updateEPG.bat from that window, and it opened in a new window. Then the first batch window would close, and gbpvr would update the EPG with the xml file, but it wouldn't be present becuase i-xmltv was modifying it or something. Maybe.

Yes that's probably it.
I included a section for additional user commands near the bottom of UpdateEPG.bat. I’d test it as-is first, and if everything works ok, add (or call) your commands from inside the batch I supplied. That way if a process fails, it should fail after the EPG file “TVGuide.xml” is created.

So here's a little nuisance...
Using I-xmltv, movies no longer show up with there respective colors in the guide (i have "movie" set to blue in the tv guide plugin settings). Is there a way to fix this? It's not a big deal but would be nice I guess.

This would be a question for sub in the support forum.
As always, I'll watch the thread to see if there is anything I can contribute.

I'm having a problem with no genre colors in the TV Listings plugin (they work fine in TV Guide). But also, I no longer have "Movie" genre listed as a choice.
What, me worry?
