jksmurf Wrote:Not sure if this is a bug or not.... I was trying this by UVNC, but presumably it's the same as live at the PC.... when I choose a dir (either network or local dir using the three "..." browse button) and then select locate new content, it worked the first time and loaded the list OK.

But then when I browsed to a new dir, and said load, it didn't load the new list. When I unchecked the subdir checkbox and click load again, it loaded the new list OK.

After that If I just chose the dir using the drop down it seemed OK. Minor thing I guess, but it seems like it couldn't flush out the old list when you chose a new one..
I've seen something similar to this... Try looking at the extensions of the files you are trying to find with the 'Locate New Content' button. If you have any upper or mixed case extensions (eg .MPG) try adding the upper or mixed case version to the 'Target Extensions' list... might help

23 - Dreiundzwanzig.avi
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0126765/
Grüne Tomaten.mp4
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101921/ (available via an AKA - search)

Obviously, these are german titles, still they are listed in the IMDB.
Any chance of getting further here ?
There will be a new IMDB AKA lookup option in the next version. This should help you lookup foreign titles.

When I do this on the PC, I cannot recreate the problem. Maybe this is a problem with VNC? If you can re-create on PC, log each step and I will try to recreate.

I scrape all my EPG data using TVXB and I miss a lot of description which folks in North America get served up by Schedules direct and its predecessor, Zap2it.

Does the plugin auto-update the EPG description info for shows that have been recorded, if not could this be a feature request i.e.
 • On-demand IMDB (etc) infor for shows that you manually want to add EPG info to and
 • auto-update the EPG description info for shows that have been recorded.
Cheers

I had not planned on having this plugin (MovieWiz) update the EPG, since the program was already recorded and may not even be in the EPG anymore.

But.... I have another plugin, SearchWizX2, that searches the guide and provides IMDB info as well. Since the purpose of that plugin is to search the future shows, I may add a feature to it that would allow you to update EPG with IMDB data based on your search results. I'll put it on the list of things to do and see how I can incorporate this feature.

Thanks JW. Actually I probably used the wrong terminology a bit here, it's not so important for me to have it in the EPG (although it would still be nice to see the details of the shows that I "might" wish to record) but I would very much like the updated IMDB data to be stored together with the recorded show automagically.

Cheers

After I found that including the upper case extensions in the 'Target Extensions' list fixed my problem - I was happy Smile I just thought that it might be worthwhile for jksmurf to try it - if it fixed jksmurf's problem, I was going to have another look, otherwise not.

However, if me 'having another look' would be useful - that's no problem...

Problem is, right now there are no new shows/movies, it "knows" the database paths now, so I can't reproduce the bug, if it is indeed one ... ah well... :-)

Is there a limit for number of entries one can put in a category in the database? I have thousands of karaoke clips and would like to put it in several categories.

Thanks

Nope. The categories are just another table in the db. There are theoretical limits to how big a sqlite db can be (in hundreds of gigabytes), but you should not come close to that limit.

Sorry, but I couldn't resist 'having another look' so..., I set up a test suite which I ran both on the GBPVR server and client, with the same results...

I created a directory structure (VideoMain) with some text files pretending to be .mpgs or .MPGs in the root dir of my c disk (see attached zip)
In Add Content I pointed Location at VideoMain and then clicked Locate New Content - 1 file - result in SS1.jpg

I added .MPG to the Target Extensions and clicked Locate New Content - 2 files - result in SS2.jpg

I removed .MPG from Target Extensions, checked SubDirs and clicked Locate New Content - 3 files - result in SS3.jpg

I added .MPG to the Target Extensions, left SubDirs checked and clicked Locate New Content - 6 files - result in SS4.jpg
I then Loaded the new content - 6 were found, 2 were duplicates, 4 were added - I peeked into the DB and 4 had been added.
Of course, this might just mean that it's time for me to dig out the XP install disk...
