Having a wee problem getting the app running, and this is happening on two separate machines.

I run DBB and at some point it just craps out at:

Step 1 of 2
Installation Status 15/20
Downloading Movie Info for Genre: Romance
70% Complete

I run the desktop app and the download freezes at the same point

Both machines are XP SP3 with .Net 3.5 - loadsa Proc power, RAM and pipe, firewall off....

I left one going for 7 hrs - just in case - to no avail.

An empty log file is created in the MovieInfo directory and empty DatabaseBuild files in MovieInfo.

Am I missing something?

Cheers

Are you running it as a plugin and its trying to build on its own, or are you running the database builder exe outside of GBPVR? As a plugin I dont think it is working very well during the build... it also isnt building during epgupdate it seems.

Thanks anyway - I did parse the whole forum for info and only posted as the final resort.

I need this app for my wife - my htpc is hooked directly to the TV so remote control is necessary.

Cheers

This thing is great! Any chance it could support a second monitor?

Hi Streaky,

It is really weird, this is happening on someone elses machine also, just during a later stage. i'll post a test version shortly that I'll need you to run and send me the logs. Can you run the version you have and tell me if the memory usage keeps jumping up (ctrl-alt-del and check on task manager)? I'm wondering if I have a memory leak that is crashing the program on peoples computers. Test version to follow.

Thank you! Smile Please remember to rate my program at http://www.netflix.com/AppGallery?st=ad&pn=1

I'm sure I could, right now I have it set to the primary display. I could probably add support for a second monitor, but I would need to find a test machine. I'm a single monitor kind of guy Smile

I'll add it to the to do list and see if I can find a test machine.
