I too am suffering from very frustrating reboots of my MVP. I have rev H3 with GBPVR 98.13. I installed the patch mentioned in this thread. I'm also using the default dongle shipped with 98.13. I have tried numerous others with even less success, including version 23096 which won't seem to even boot on my MVP.

I'm a pure Linux user and have no Windows boxes, so I run GBPVR under VMWare on a Windows virtual machine. It has more than enough power to transcode on the fly. I do not suspect this has anything to do with it.

The MVP will reboot while playing net radio or watching videos. I also find that navigating up/down through the menu system can be painfully slow. Sometimes it will take 2-3 seconds for the menu selection to change following a key press on the remote. I'm not sure if this is related. Either way, it's still very frustrating.

The following is a snippet of code when the MVP reboots:

Code:

Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm stuck and frustrated. It's becoming almost unusable.

Many thanks.

Huh? That link I provided above had the patch attached as a zip file. You download this file and replace the original file of the same name.

Let me clarify...

The "Download" link I was referring to is the one prominently displayed on the opening page of this site. That's where I always go to download new versions, figuring that it would be a fully-patched version for first-time users.

The GB-PVR installer is not updated between releases. Patches are make available in the forums for certain problems for those that cant wait, otherwise users will get the patches when I do the next release.

Is this still the best place to request a copy of the 25_24023b.bin dongle ?
I'm using an H3 MVP (wired) with the latest gbpvr but still have loads of problems with out of sync playback. The same files play ok on my pc, so I'm hoping that the dongle may solve it.

Bill

That's a pretty "old" dongle now
DONGLE_33_24333b.BIN is the latest one, but not necessarily the best.

I have a store of old dongles still though, PM me your email address and I can try and figure out how to get one to you.

OK guys / gals, here it is for a short time only...
I don't really think it will help, the latest dongles seem OK for most, but try it...
