Seems that shspvr.com has been down for several days. Anyone know of another place to get this version of the MediaMVP driver ? I would like to try this out.

Does the GB-PVR work with the newest MediaMVP software on Hauppauge's website? 22012?

Thanks!

Should do, it worked with 22007. It hasn't worked for any USA/NTSC user yet - I've not had time to work out why yet.

ah I see.. I tried it, as you said, didn't work.  I couldn't even get the MediaMVP to connect to my computer (maybe it's cause I didn't have a compatible tuner card - mine's a Leadtek Win2000XP Deluxe - you think you might support it in the future?)

Thanks!

Maybe in the future I'll support you capture card, not immediately sorry. Too many things to worry about already. I've you can find a command line recorder that will work with you card, I could create a wrapper pluggin (like I have for WinTVCap) fairly easily. Let me know if you find one.

Another user (thanks Bryan) has sent me some NTSC MVP network traces. Even though it appears to not be communicating, it is. Its just not showing anything. On the screen it just keeping showing the Contacting Servers...

I'll work it out very soon. I'm just focusing my attentions on LiveTV at the moment, but getting MVP support working again is next on the list.

Well it's good to know I should be able to use it at least for viewing already recorded shows, right?

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] (sub @ Jan. 06 2004,19:22)]From v0.0.8, you'll need to have version 1.1.21365 or higher of Hauppuage MediaMVP software installed. Many of the protocol messages changed in this release of the software. v0.0.8 includes support for these new protocol messages, and will no longer work with older MediaMVP software installed.
Ooo, go on, any chance of you letting me know about the MVP protocol message changes or do I have to spend hours poring over ethereal again?

d0m,

I havn't got any formal notes for you sorry. Initialization is pretty much the same. The of media messages messages are now 40 bytes. Requests to playback music and video files are now 34 bytes followed by filename. Request to turn on and off menus are also 34 bytes (+2 byte status). The increased size of these packets are pretty much zero padded, but I'm sure they had their reasons for requiring space in the packets...
