Ok, I've had time to think about it a bit more and I read up a bit on your bridge. Never new a bridge that needed a cross-over, but of course yours sure does.
First, are you absolutely positive that your laptop is getting it's IP address from DHCP? XP can be configured to use a static IP if the DHCP request fails, and are you sure that's not happening? Based on your MVP's behavior is sure seems like your bridge isn't forwarding DHCP requests.
Also, have to updated the bridge's firmware? I noticed the latest firmware for it mentions things like:
# Enables wireless to Ethernet bridge multi-clients
# Enables automatic MAC cloning, keeping the first connected device with the same behavior as a single device in v1.0 of ME101
# Enables DHCP client for ME101 bridge for easier access to Web-based configuration utility
It's a strange problem you have. I ran my MVP over a wireless bridge without any trouble and even though you may have throughput issues with your bridge (11b just isn't made for video), you should at least be able to get the MVP to connect.
Good luck,
Tim
