HIP worked huh? I never heard of it before today. I've read at least 3 threads that reference it. I'll have to give it a try. I assume it's kind of like girder.

Since you used HIP I assume you didn't try to extend the existing irremote.ini file to accomodate the codes from the MCE remote. Obviously the receiver will accept the ir codes from the MCE remote.

i couldnt get the hauppauge receiver working in my setup. something to do with multiple hauppauge tuners, found a lot of threads on their support forum and no obvious fix (at the time anyway) but noticed that the mce receiver was blinking at me when i was testing the hauppauge receiver/remote so looked into using that receiver instead.

This page details how to allow hip/MCE receiver to learn remote codes and where to get the 3rd party replacement driver for the MCE receiver.

I think I saw some remote someplace (this forum maybe) that looked like a combo between the MCE and Hauppauge 45button remotes. Is that what you have?

Nope. Mine has the color buttons on the bottom.

If you've got a digital camera, can you post a picture? I've only ever seen this model without the colour buttons, so I'm curious what the other model looks like.

Sub, I think this mystery remote is the one that somone was talking about in another thread. I wonder how you can add support for it. I guess MCE would have to support it first, right?

Cheers.

When you press these coloured keys, does it add a message to the end of gbpvr.exe.log? It should do. If you're able to let me know which button results in which log message, I should be able to add support for these buttons in the next release.

The remotes with colour buttons are the European remotes (for Fastext).
