Installing New Skin help

Looking really good, good job! =) However, I tried the Collection now again for the first time in ages, thought I'd give the appearance manager a go. Now I have gbpvr 96.8 installed. I downloaded the Collection and unzipped. In plugins directory I have AppearanceManager.dll, but still I can't get it to show up on the plugins tab of the gbpvr config app. Any ideas as to why?

Please check the date on both the Appearance.dll and Collection\Main Menu\Skin.xml.

Both should be 2/05/2006. If they are not, download the collection from the wiki to your gbpvr directory. Make sure it is the one with gbpvr.exe. Unzip the file there.

If the dates are correct, please post again.

Due to our time zones, this could take awhile.

Without knowing the real cause, I'm going to suggest some things that might help and shouldn't hurt.

Using Config select the Collection skin.
Exit Config.
Start GBPVR and confirm that the collection skin works okay.
Exit GBPVR.
Reboot your computer.
Start GBPVR.
Exit GBPVR.
Start Config and look for Appearance in the plugins tab.

BTW, the list in the plugins tab of config is scrollable and since you just installed Appearance it may be at the bottom of the list and simply below view.

Collection skin works fine. Can't get appearance manager to show, though, even with your suggestions. The list does not have a vertical scrollbar, so that does not seem to be the problem either...

This is not a huge problem to me. I installed gbpvr on my work computer just to check out the new features, and I thought it would be fun to look at the appearance manager. When I get my internet connection back up at home, I'll probably, eventually, try it at home too, but there is absolutely no rush on my account =) Thank's for your suggestions, though.

Ehhrm... :o Now I did what I always tell other people when they have problems... "check the logs, dude" =) There does seem to be a problem there... maybe you have some idea what's going on when you see the log =)

Wow... works great, I really like it.... one question though, is it just me, or is the font too "bold"? And the time indication has some shadow effect to the up and left of it... have I done something, or is that supposed to be? Big Grin

This is more of a feature/looks request... would it be possible to make the bottom of the task image dude stay put? When you switch between (for example) TV guide and Search guide, the task image dude moves a bit to the left and to the right... it'd be awesome if you could put a no-dancing sign in his face Wink
