changing CONEXANT=0 did not make any difference, probably because it is a conexant chip, as printed on the card [Image: smile.gif]

I installed gotTV, and it recognized the M150 immediately. The video looks perfect with gotTV.

I think the difference between the m150 and m179 is the tv tuner portion. m150 uses a philips tuner, while m179 uses a no name part which is where most of the complaints came from.

I will post a screenshot of the garbled tv output later.

To my knowledge no one has ever tried GB-PVR with an M150, so I'm not supprised if there is a few teething problems. Email the screen shot to be at support@devnz.com and I'll take a look.

No surprise here, either. Being a software developer myself, I have being through this process too many times [Image: smile.gif] I do appreciate your quick responses and all the support, very much.

sub, I've sent the screenshot to you through email. Here's what I observed after my last post:

1) If I run gotTV, shut it down, then start gbpvr, live tv works without the vertical bars, looks awesome. If I reboot the computer, and run gbpvr, it reverts back to the vertical bars. Running gotTV again will cure it.

2) With the gotTV workaround, I let gbprv run for a couple of hours, and it hang.

3) mediaMVP crashes on live tv. It show live tv for a split second, stops (flashinging the stop icon), then go to a black screen. had to reboot the server.

Does the MVP work for playback of pre-recorded video?

Here is a more detailed report of the mediaMVP problem:

1) starting live tv, it plays for less than a second, then stops, tv goes black. if I leave it alone for a few second, then press the play key, it starts playing. everything go normal. So I guess it did not crash after all.

2) After that, if I change channel, it goes through the same cycle as 1).

3) While live tv is playing, pressing "menu", "back", or "stop" will stop live tv, and tv goes black. This time, the mvp server crashes. No more keys will get any response. power cycle the mediaMVP device will get back to the main menu, but none of keys gets any response. rebooting mediaMVP server will fix it.

4) number 3) above applies to the playing of any mpeg files from the server. Seems like the "stop" function is causing some problems here. I recall that I've seen the same thing from as early as .13 release.

Btw, which botton on the MVP goes back to main menu?

You could trying increasing the "MVP Pre Play Delay" setting in the config app. Try bumping this up to about a seconds, just to see if the problem goes away. You get this behaviour if the recording hasn't managed to write enough to the file before the playback process starts.

Found the problem with mediaMVP. It turn out that all my problems related to mediaMVP was caused by my leaving the boot server running. I thought it would be convenient with the boot server running all the time in case I need to reboot either the computer or the mediaMVP.

However, I scheduled to record a half hour show at about 2am last night, and it did not record. This morning the status of the show is still scheduled. I will play with it more tonight, and report back.

Well it looks like you got this card working, good to hear. I was thinking of buying couple since they're only $75.

Can you summarize what you think was needed to get it working?

Thanks
