Yeah I know, the little message says so :p , but I checked the reg and at some stage I must have put in those "magic VMR settings" you refer to on occasion.

In any case, NVIDIA has the same effect, it would appear. It "feels" (very scientific this) like my machine doesn't have the grunt to process the Video, Audio and THEN Change Channel at the same time, whereas if I JUST run the MVP, the recording service program running in the background can send the MVP the Vid/Aud for the MVP to process, using fewer resources than GBPVR.exe can, which allows the Channel Changing to work OK (CPU use is WAY up when it tries all that ON the PC, I also checked it using process Explorer). Anyway, that's my story ... (and I'm sticking to it :-) )

There is an error marked at 6:42pm on the 16th, not sure if that helps

Well I got my USB-UIRT up and running again, so that it changes TV channels like before.

What I had done was in the DVD Tab of Config I had chosen USB-UIRT as the remote control device, but it seems like GBPVR or the USB-UIRT didn't like it being set up both there and in the EPG setup. When I put the DVD Tab controller back to the default, the EPG channel Changer (the same USB-UIRT device) worked again.

Means I can't use my DVD function, but it's no biggie. TV channel change is more important so it records the correct channel off my STB. Seems wierd behaviour though, or is it by design?

Sub, sorry for the bump, but am not sure if you saw this and ignored it or missed it, I would be interested if I should try and get this going again (i.e. use USB-UIRT for both) or just flag it?

Sorry but to be honest, it probably came under the 'ignored it' category. Some things like USB-UIRT problems I cant stand looking at - the experience is different for everybody (different IR timings for different remotes and set top boxes), so I dont really like looking into this area of the app if I can help it.

You should be able to use it for both. It certainly worked for me last time I tested it, but that was a long time ago.

If you make no head way on it, you could always look into using Girder for managing USB-UIRT input.

The remote control selection shares a page with the DVD settings in the config app, but other than that there is no relationship between DVD settings and USB-UIRT.

sub Wrote:... by default the Cyberlink decoder is not compatible with VMR. This can cause OSD graphics to be missing and keyboard events to be swallowed.

I can't for the life of me find the thread or page referring to the Cyberlink issue, (other than passing references)

If I remember correctly, there was some issue between using the CyberLink OEM decoder, and a suggestion to 'patching' the install with a file or two from the Full version...

I'd like to add this info to the wiki config pages... And get rid of the red warning in my GBPVR...

I have two GBPVR 98.08b installations running. (Mine and my father's) We are both experiencing the same issue with the USBUIRT failing after a recording.

Seems to be, after a recording the USBUIRT won't send an IR signal out. You can change channels (ie. with the remote or the keyboard), the OSD indicates that you have changed channels. (ie. You press channel up and it shows you have move to channel 5 from channel 4). But the USBUIRT never sends the IR codes to change the channel. The only way to get it to work again is to restart the recording service.

I have gone through the other posts I could find, but nothing as far as a fix is concerned. I also had this on the previous version, 97.09 but it seems to be worse with the new one.

Has anyone found a fix for this one? Thanks
