nemulate Wrote:Actually just sold a used MVP on ebay for more than I paid new for it! But seeing as there in great demand maybe I shouldn't be so happy :/ I was actually able to cash in on the shortage a bit -- got my hands on about 1/2 dozen MVPs from Radio Shack on close-out, and sold them on eBay for what Hauppauge lists them for on their own website. I easily paid for my PVR-150 and PVR-500 this way, not to mention the two MVPs that I kept for my own use. There are still some Radio Shacks here in the USA (Charlotte, NC and Sumter, SC for example -- that's North Carolina and South Carolina for you out-of-USA types) that still list the MVPs as in stock. If anyone in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia is looking for them -- forget about it! I think I grabbed them all. Tell you guys what -- I'm going to SC and NC during the first part of this Summer, and I'll risk completely annoying my wife by checking a lot of Radio Shacks along the way. Now that I've paid for all my own equipment in MVP resale profits, any more that I find I'll list them here, and do a first-come, first-serve email dibbs. For those of you out of the USA, I'll happily ship it to you, but it's usually about US$20 to do so. Without ever seeing or using the wireless MVP, I still have to completely agree with Sub at least in theory -- the wired MVP is going to be much more reliable than the wireless one. I already have pockets of Wi-Fi weirdness in my house where my Palm or notebook won't connect. I would hate to try to troubleshoot a wireless MVP under the same circumstances. Talk about the WAF taking a nose dive!

GBPVR system info intentionally left blank because I'm personally insulted that you can't remember it from previous signatures.

Does the wireless also have a wired port, or is it just wireless? That would be foolish of Haup to not give the option.

has anybody tried using the belkin Pre-N device :
http://catalog.belkin.com/IWCatProductPa..._Id=184316 And do they know what a difference it makes to streaming video compared to a normal wireless-g WAP? Reviews indicate this isnt just marketing spin, but i wonder how people find it in the real world and with streaming video?

Yeah id be interested to know if it makes the wireless MVP realistic and more reliable, especially before i start routing ethernet cable through the walls!

That sounds a bit disappointing. Did Hauppauge fix the out of spec voltage / dark, blurry over saturated output or just add wireless?
