BUT I do like experimenting with all skins and would hate any skinners out there to be disillusioned if they're not high in the poll! The trouble with this type of poll is that it probably isn't a true reflection of what people use as not everyone completes it and also like I said some skinners may be a bit disillusioned by the results! Please don't be and I'm sure I speak for nearly everyone here, keep up the good work you guys!

I would try skins if they had an up-to-date "compatible plugin list".
This may also encourage people to submit self-made xml files for the plugins they like/use. I would start with my own plugins. Mark

I have a CRT rear projection TV and an LCD TV, both via MediaMVPs, so I use BlueMCE2 as it's good on both. Last time i tried a new skin it fell over, so i went back to BlueMCE2.

Voting for myself is pointless in a poll.
I used Contour more than any other until I started developing my own skin. I have tried (and still do) every new skin that comes out. I don't use many plugins but am trying to include all of them in mine. Hats off to Tipster, the skinning machine. I do not know how he finds the time to crank out new skins almost every month, work, and watch the bajillion shows he records. The man goes on vacation, then like a week later pops out a new skin. I have been working on mine when I can squeeze in the time and am only about 80% done after a month or so.

I use my own modified blue. A combination of Sub's blue, and my BlueBasic. Not exactly something I would release, because it only supports the plugins I use.
Other PVR's in the house use either it, or Bliss Royale.

I have just switched over to baseskin, as (a) I was bored of the same skin I've had for about 12 months and (b) the steel mce2 looks really good on our TVs. There are a couple of things that need tweaking - mainly plugin uniformity - but overall it is pretty good.
I can't figure out how to change the themepacks, but then I haven't really tried - if it ain't broke....

It's really easy to apply a ThemePack.
Just run the ThemePack.exe file. It will unpack itself to GBPVR/Skins/BaseSkin/AllBaseSkins and when the files are unpacked a batfile CopyTheme.bat will run and copy all files to the right places. I have decided not to go on with BaseSkin HD at this point. I am pretty satiesfied with with the current features of the BaseSkin and also the quality of the XML files. It is too much work for so little. I will wait till after summer I guess with the HD version. Users have to discover the benefits with the BaseSkin first. I will maintain and keep BaseSkin 2.x up to date with GBPVR and most plugins. Perhaps port a skin now and then.

I voted for Other, now it says I voted for Blue:eek:

lol - I knew that was going to happen. The poster asked that I edit the thread to change the 'other' option to 'blue' since he'd forgotten this common skin. Unfortunately I was asleep at the time, so it went the whole night as 'other' before I changed it
