Two more things I remembered :p :

10) In the Guide (a but lengthy description... bear with me):
When you browse the guide, let's say the time now is 21:40. and I just look for stuff running now, using up/down.
Most of the slots are either 1-hour shows (in our example, 21:00-22:00), or 30 minutes shows (21:00-21:30;21:30-22:00).
Now, if I move to a channel that has a 1-hour show - it will be highligetd.
If I move to a channel that has 30 minute slot at the current time, the first of the two will be highlighted! (the 21:00-21:30) - this show is already over!

I understand the problem: when moving from a 60min slot to 30min - you choose the first of the two (the one aligned to the same start time) - right? I mean, you can't guess which time I'm looking for.
Unless - I am browsing the current shows - don't jump to ones that are over?

11) In the guide: add a "Reminder" option - to just select a show and set a reminder on it, so when watching live/recorded/videos, if this show's time approaches (have a config to set a predefined reminder time), get an on screen reminder dialog:
---------------------------
"Reminder - 'Prison Break' starts in 5 minutes.
Would you like to switch to liveTv on channel 8 now?"
[OK]/[Cancel]

Something like "if you move down, and then up again in the EPG, you should be back at the point where you started"?

Quote:11) In the guide: add a "Reminder" option
This has been discussed at length in the past. Basically, it's really tricky to get this to work in an intuitive way in a multi mvp environment...

Yeah, that too...

Well, i'm a non-MVP single-capture environment guy. Very simple, isn't it?
I mean, it's even simpler than the recording-notification-during-liveTV that was just suggested (and I support that too). It's a request made by the user to remind him/her that a show is upcoming. Sub - really an implementation issue?

I posted a while back this isnt a feature I want. I recognise some people would use it, so its still on the 'maybe' list, but its got a really low priority.

Basically what happens is:

Code:
9:00pm        9:30pm       10:00pm
Chan 1       Program 1 which lasts 1 hr
Chan 2       Prog 2 30mins   | Prog 3 30 mins
If the time is 9:40 and you have Program 1 on Chan 1 highlighted, pushing the down arrow to Chan 2 and Prog 2 gets highlighted. Rather than Prog 3. This is more a UI inconvience than a bug.

Cheers,

On the "guide navigation issue":
colin Wrote:This is more a UI inconvience than a bug.
Call it either. And I'm sure Sub understood the issue... but thanks for supporting. As long as Sub is willing to concider dealing with itSmile .

On the other subject:

That's OK, I/we can't call the shots for the priority. All I can do is voice and "vote" for my wishes...

"the guide navigation issue"
- guide2j, or whatever its called now, sorted this out ages ago. one of the nice features of that plugin. of course i dont use it Smile but it has some nice features the core plugin could steal from.

Maybe ages ago it did, but now it doesn't. I just tried it (again) - the behavior in the guide is identical to built-in one.

By default, when moving rows (up/down), it will select the program that started at the "round" time (01:00, 02:00, etc). Not only it doesn't select the one running now, it selects sometimes programs that are finished (again, this is XGuide and built-in one).

I know it's possible to solve... (Sage does it correctly). Like sub said about something else - It's a question of priority (and effort involved).
