I had a quick look at the log file and noticed the line "using instance: 1" for both recordings does this mean that for some reason the same TV card is being used or something along those lines? I didn't have time to look at the recordings and see what was actually recorded yet but will do that tonight. I am not really to sure what else to try, any suggestions?

I think you might be on the right track... To confirm: have you selected different 'board numbers' or Capture Device Numbers in:

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Config/DefineSource

Like said before, The hauppauge device check is only for the Hauppauge, but that just helps you guess more inteligently when selecting the device number in the define source screen...

You could make sure that one card is #1 and the other is #2, and try live TV
(here's an idea: check the channel mappings, and uncheck a channel from on card but not the other. That way when you check that channel, you'll know exactly which tuner you should be looking at)
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Confi...elMappings
If the live TV isn't working, swith the board numbers around and try that...

Just a thought

Hi, thanks for the reply. I have tried changing the board numbers, when I select any board other than #2 for the second card I get an error.

"you could make sure that one card is #1 and the other is #2" -this is how I have it configured at the moment.

Good idea about having different channels on each tuner I will give that a try today at some stage as I am "working from home".

Thanks again I will try a few things with the board numbers.

Scott.

It really should be one with number 1, and one with number 2, since you have to cards that share the same driver.
I'm not always right

I didn't really think of having card 1 as #1 and #2 but I will try that too.

Thanks.

No, I meant that one card should have #1, and one card should have #2. You can't know which one should have which number, that you have to figure out by trial and error.

Thanks for the input/help...

OK, I tried setting the first card as board number 1, and the second card as board number 2. I set channels 1 and 2 on card 1, and set channels 3 and 4 on card 2. I can watch channels 1 and 2 fine but when I go to channel 3 or 4 then live tv just stays on the current channel (channel 1 or 2 depending if I use - or + to change channels).

I then tried removing both sources and resetting up just one card and set the board number as 2 (so board number 1 was not in use at all). I could then go to live tv and watch the last channel I was watching before (which happened to be channel 2) but if I tried to change channels it stayed on channel 2 but the text description of the channel and program changes (audio and video remains the same).

I then tried different board numbers and for all the other board numbers (except #1 and #2) I get an error saying that the drivers are not loaded for this device when I try to close the source settings in the config. If I continue anyway and go into live tv I get an error about the source not configured or found.

Still hoping.

Scott.

Did you try setting second card as board #1 and first card as #2?

Yip tried that too, no luck there either. I decided to give up using 2x Avermedia M150's, I have ordered an Avermedia Hybrid (analogue + digital) so this will use different drivers and then I should be able to use the two tuners seperately (1x M150 and 1x Hybrid). Thanks for all your help though Smile

I Found A Solution...

My problem was fixed by setting <AutoDetectEncoderMethod> in config.xml from 2 to 0.

SUB, i PRESUME THIS WOULD BE A COMMON SOLUTION FOR USERS WHO ARE NOT USING HAUPPAUGE TV TUNERS AND HAVE TWO OR MORE OF THE SAME CARD. PERHAPS THIS SETTING SHOULD BE DISABLED AUTOMATICALLY FOR NON HAUPPAUGE USERS? THIS PROBLEM TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO FIX BUT ALL IS GOING GREAT NOW. THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS, I REALLY LOVE THE SOFTWARE.

THANKS AGAIN.

SCOTT.
