This withe line also appears here in Switzerland on some channels. I think it is EPG or some special teletext.

I had it also on the TVOUT in earlier releases of WinTV2000.
I think, if we could copy the display-settings from WinTV2000 to GB-PVR, the line should disapear, but thats too complicated for me....

Thx guys

Now I know from what the white line is, had no idea it was from teletext stuff .

I also experimented with the fact that changing x and y offsets of the tvout in the configxml file of gbpvr has influence on wintv 2000, only after a reboot wintv 2000 plays back the normal way.

Maybe there is solution for that and we don't know it [Image: biggrin.gif]

Does anyone also has problems with the manual recordings when recording a show from monday untill friday, it only records on the day I entered the show for recording?

Thx for the info so far!

Hi,

I got the same white line on some channels here in Germany. I could solve the problem by tweaking the offset in the config.xml file.

<PVR350OffsetY>20</PVR350OffsetY>
I changed it to 35 which works fine for me. Maybe this value is different on different TVs. I have a 16:9 Loewe.

Greetings

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]I noticed that when I play with the OSD size and position, the video size and position changes as well. I can't seem to find a good compromise where I can get proper overscan and still see the whole OSD.

Also, the Y size and offset parameters affect the OSD and video in the same way. However, the X size and offset do not seem to affect the video as I would expect them. In fact, X size has no effect on the video.

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ]Sub: Is this behavior by design? If this is already the intended behavior, I would like to see additional control of OSD size.

Sub,
Do you have an answer?

You're probably seeing results you're not expecting if you've configured ((width + offsetx) > 720) or if ((height + offsety) > 480 (576 for PAL)). The sum of these values must be kept below the specs for your TV standard 720x480 for NTSC, 720x576 for PAL.

Nope.. I already read about those requirements :-)
I experimented at length, changing one variable at a time. I was always within those constraints.

I'm mainly curious if the OSD and video are supposed to move together or if the settings are only supposed to affect the OSD.

I havn't tried this in a while, so I'll need to try it to remind myself. From memory it also affect the video. It seemed to me that these sizes should always be approximately the same.

That was one of my biggest troubles was that when I get the video sized and positioned accurately, the OSD is not correct. I had to settle for a middle ground between the two. Would it be possible to have seperate resolutions and offsets for the Video and OSD??

Two overscan issues/questions that I had:

1) Changing the X scaling and offset in the config.xml file worked excellently, but when I change the Y values, I don't see any change at all. Even making drastic changes where there ought to be some impact has no effect whatsoever. I'm using the TV-out of a PVR-350 with version 0.22. Is it a bug, or the problems on my end?

2) The image displayed on the screen is slightly askew, as if the picture has been rotated two or three degrees. Anyone know if this is a Hauppage issue? (I haven't found anything by googling) I haven't tried it on another set yet, so it may well be the TV.

This is probably because you've tried to make the Y+YOffset more than the maximum. The Y+YOffset can be no more than 480 (or 576 for PAL). If you reduce Y, then you should be able to increase YOffset. I hope that makes sense.

I've never seen or heard of that problem, and there is certainly no configuration setting I change to correct it. Can I suggest putting a phone book under one side of your TV [Image: laugh.gif]
