Umm, sub, I copied the .ax file over the one in the GBPVR directory and then double-clicked the registry file and added it but I didn't find any push file on my drive after I watched a show and it repeated the freeze. And, as an addendum, changing the channels doesn't help. The audio for the new channel will be present but the frame from the previous channel where it froze stays on screen. The time bar at the top works as it should, though.

The file created should be c:\push.log

Can you export your HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Debug registry key to a file, and email it to me?

hey sub, i didnt want to create a new thread since this is a similar problem, but if i leave live tv running for long periods of time (like overnight) it locks up and to fix this problem all i have to do is change channel and its fine, but if a show is recording when i change channel, i am able to change the channel and the recording is interrupted.  the recording is not the cause of the lockup, it locked up a couple of hours before the recording.  the only reason im leaving it in live tv mode over night or long periods of time is so when i come back to it, gbpvr still has the system resources it needs to run smoothly, otherwise it can take a will for windows to allocate them (which is annoying if you just want to watch some tv). oh and ive got the new black.mpg aswell. i dont know if my logs would help any, could you just try leaving your pvr350 running for ages and see if it locks up? (or maybe it does it for all capture cards).

update:
ok ive just had another problem i was in live tv, and a show began to record and i wasnt kicked out of live tv, it continued, when i went to exit live tv, that interrupted the show be recorded and nothing was recorded after i exited, but before i manually left live tv (via menu button) it was fine, live tv was just blank (ie black screen, but with osd).

In case this helps, the shows still freeze but it's always 9 or so seconds after the alloted timeslot for them is up (in other words, 9 seconds after the time bar reaches the end). It doesn't depend on how long the show has been running - it always will freeze a number of seconds after the time bar reaches the end of the timeslot. If that needs any clarification, let me know.

Anyone else still getting pauses between shows? I've tried different values for pre-buffer of LiveTV, but I still get pauses between shows. There's also a lot of studdering going on when changing channels or if a new show starts. I'm using multiple tuners, 350 & 250, with the TV-out on the 350. My PC is an AMD 2800+ with 1GB of RAM on an ASROCK mATX. The storage HD is master on 2nd IDE chain at 7200rpm. I'm only running GBPVR on this machine so I'm sure there's enough CPU power to switch between MPEG files. I also get this strange error in LiveTV about not having a capture source available when a scheduled recording starts. It boots me out and when I go back into LiveTV it starts to work again. Though this only happens once in awhile. I have done a fresh install of the WinTV drivers and GBPVR lastest versions as of today. Any suggestions?

There should be a brief pause as it switches files. I've greatly reduced the duration of this file switch pause on the PVR350 for the next release. This topic was about it locking up entirely, which has been resolved.

Stuttering can occur if you're trying to play a bit of video that doesn't yet exist on the disk. In this case the software has to pause playback briefly to allow a little more video to be written to disk. Its sort of like recording and playback are trying to use the exact same part of the disk, when in fact playback needs to be a little bit behind the recording. The timing of events here isn't as linear as you might imagine as there is a bit of buffering for playback, so its often trying to read ahead of where the recording is currently up to.

Some one else mentioned, this so I'm looking at it.
