Weather plugin in Canada

Hi all. I live in Kalgoorlie WA.

It`s url is http://weather.msn.com/local.aspx?wealocations=wc:15950 which is a number quite different from the others.

Any ideas what I need to input to get this to work.

Edit your config.xml file with notepad. In the <WeatherPlugin> section, assuming that the code 15950 has already been entered into your area codes list for the plugin, just insert a line that says

<SpecialZipCodes>15950</SpecialZipCodes>

If you already have a SpecialZipCodes section, just add 15950 to the list, where each entry is separated by a | character.

This tells the plug-in to treat this 5 digit code as an international site and not a 5 digit US zip code.

The weather plug-in does not show up on GB-PVR

I have just started using GB-PVR(ver 09905),and tried installing the latest weather plugin(Attach:WeatherPlug-InSetup.98.zip)
I uninstalled the zip file, ran the installer-which dropped the .dll files and skins into the respective directories
In the config tool- I enabled the weather plug-in
I entered the accid parameter of CAXX0054 from msnbc for Calgary, but I still see no addition to the GB PVR, I am using the blue skin if that helps

Can you look in your gbpvr.exe.log file and see what erros are posted? If the weather plug-in is not showing up in the menu that means there is some error occurring while it is loading.

Hello everyone,

This is the first time I try the weather plugin. I d/led the latest one.
It installed ok but it doesn't get the data from MSNBC, It says it's downloading the data but stays at that screen.
My code from the url is
=http://weather.msn.com/local.aspx?wealocations=wc:28698

So I figured that I have to input CAXX28698 in the config. Is this the right way to do it??

I finally got it to work by configuring it in the main weather screen.

A question for other Canadians who use it. How do you get it to display in celsius? I only get Farenheit.

choose SI units in the config panel. In the weather dsecriptive narrative, you will still get one farenheit reference but otherwise it will show in celius

I'm not a fellow Canadian, but on plug-in's config screen if you click in the Display tab and then tick the box "Show in SI Units" that should do it.

As to your first question, you could have entered the code in the config screen as "28698"; no CA needed. Then when you ran the plug-in you would have to press pause (control Q) the very first time you downloaded the weather to tell the plug-in to not treat 28698 as a 5 digit US zip code. After tat the plug-in would remember to treat the code as an international weather code.

Theater reviews do not show up
Showtimes, movies and theaters do show up-but not the reviews or posters
using GB-PVR(ver 09905) and attach:theater_Setup.zip,and using both US and canadian Zip codes
