No, it wont be related to that. Black.mpg is only used with the PVR350 tv out.

I think there is just something screwy about the directshow decoders on your machine. You'd probably find a Windows reinstall would be the easiest way to clear it up - otherwise you could try uninstall all the apps that have installed decoders, in hopes that one of these will remove an offending problem decoder.

I was just thinking about doing this.

06:30:27.843 INFO pGB->Render(audioPin) returned -2147220906

is this in reference to an audio decoder?

That error is saying that Directshow failed to find a combination of filters it could hookup to make playback possible. It was the audio branch of the graph that failed.
