Make sure you have the latest skin.xml file for the skin you are using.
What, me worry?

Spartan,

I installed the new version and found a college basketball final score that was truncated since it was 3 digit (over 100). I'm into college basketball and keep track of conference teams. Enhancement request...it would be nice to be able to setup conference(s) as favorite(s) so that all conference games would be grouped together/at the top. That or another button (green?)that would toggle between the designated favorites and all scores would be nice. It looks like to get conference specific would be appending the conference designator to the url string you send to sportsline. Obviously we'd need to know what the abbreviation is or maybe it could be pulled, parsed, and used in some sort of drop down in the config? It appears the abbreviations/names are in the source under the 'name="pulldown". I'm not an app coder so.... Pretty cool plugin and getting better with every release!

However, lately, I have had one issue. The play times are off by 1 hour. I live in the EST time zone and I think it became a problem when we adjusted our clocks for daylight savings time at the end of October.

Ah, correct you are! Never noticed that before.

ToddW Wrote:I have tried the ticker, but found it annoying to have it popup while watching a movie during the week.

Do you use an MVP? If not, you can use the Ticker On/Off button on the plugin page (using the remote via gbpvr) to disable the ticker when not necessary. (This does not seem to work with MVP). I only connect via MVP so it is difficult for me to test this.

ToddW Wrote:It would be nice if the sports scores could be displayed on the main GBPVR screen and in the screen saver where the weather and stock quotes are displayed.

For sure. I think I would have to tap into the VAPanel, or perhaps there is another way. I'll add it to the list.

NBA support was added in the release at the top of this post. Make sure you have the latest version and that the latest skin.xml file is the up-to-date for your particular skin.

I noticed that yesterday as well, and will be fixed in the next point release.

Thanks! I did notice that sportsline does do conference specific scores, but that would require some work to get a list of the conferences and append it properly to the URL.

In lieu of that, you could enter in all of your conference teams on the favorites line like so, so that they all show up on top of the list. For example, in BigTen country (Go STATE!), I use:

Michigan|Ohio State|Purdue|Minnesota|Illinois|Indiana|Wisconsin|Northwestern|Penn State|Iowa

Now by doing this, you will get some teams mixed in there that might not belong (ie. Eastern Michigan, Central Michigan, etc), but it gets you most of the way there.

m.clizzle Wrote:does this supply everything you need?

Interesting link there. Honestly, I do not see myself converting over to that feed because it would require a rewrite of all of my sports parsers (of which there are 8 or so of them).

Perhaps if I stumble upon loads of extra time (not likely since I will be starting a new job next week and now have a 90 minute commute until we move).

2006-11-11 : v2.0.0.1
* Bugfix: 3 digit final scores do not show for College Basketball.
* Bugfix: Gametime hours have been off by 1 hour since daylight savings time ended.
* The refresh button now refreshes the data in the screen on the right, instead of forcing you to reselect the sport.

State? Go IU! You must have noticed the OSU score which is what I noticedBig Grin I do like MS though, always a classy program. Ahhh, back to the days of Knight and Judd, lots of respect and no let down with Izzo. Hopefully Kelvin will get us back to where we belong. My dad graduated from OSU and I grew up listening to the OSU/Michigan football game I despise Michigan:mad:

If you look in the page source the conferences names and abreviations are listed under 'name="pulldown". It looks like you could search for "/collegefootball/scoreboard or "/collegebasketball/scoreboard. How about choose college basketball, then in the right screen being able to hit the green button which pulls the page and populates the conferences in the right screen, choose one, and the right screen re-populates with the conference scores? I think it would work for college football as well. No biggie, you asked for suggestions Wink

All good suggestions -- it's just a matter of time.

My pop went to OSU as well, but since I grew up on this side of the Michigan/Ohio line (by 3 miles), I went with the in-state tuition and to MSU. Smile Needless to say, he is a *little* bit fired up for next week's game.

I just installed this plugin, and have to say its one of the coolest plugins for GBPVR yet!

I did encounter one error with the college basketball scores. It would appear that the parser is off:

Here is a screenshot of the Sportsline page taken at the same time:

I make the following observations:

1. The parser does fine for the first 6 games (the first three lines of games down)
2. On the 4th set of games down are all messed up. It gets the team names right, but the time and scores are all off. Its also showing the game in the left column first, then the right column.

Any ideas?

Ok, first off -- the plug-in does not update automatically (unless in ticker mode), you must manually request a refresh.

Secondly, I have not used the plugin in a while, so it is likely that CBS may have changed the format of their HTML.

Thirdly, thanks for the compliment -- I'll see what I can do with the formatting.

Yeah, I understand that you have to manually refresh the data. No problem there. Just letting you know that the College Basketball was not functioning properly.

Thanks for your work!
