I think the analog vs digital can record/watch simultaneously but not from 2 digital sources.
Cheers

Yes, thats my interstanding. I didnt bother to mention that because the analog side of the device lacks the hardware encoder so isnt supported by GB-PVR. The hardware is physically capable of analog at the same type as DVB though.

Best to wait until the new release in the next week.

Quote:and is it going to be that much better than dvb-s
Yes, when the highdef stuff starts transmitting

Quote:does it use more cpu power etc than dvb-s
Yes, though if you have good working H.264 acceleration in your video card it might not be more CPU.

sorry for the dumb questions should be the last one for today anyway Smile

when you record does it take anymore cpu cycles than recording dvb-s
dont really want to have to buy a new pc at the moment icould handle a new video card if that will work

would a 2.5 ghz machine record ok with a H.264 accel video card is what i need to know

Doing it all again, I'd probably go for the HVR3000 or Nova-T 500. DVB-S2 for Freeview is eons away, and I can get DTT in the meantime (and thus will likely never need DVB-S2).
Cheers

you can only do dvb-t in my opinion after trying for the past few days if you have a super quick machine cause imagine trying to record 3X HD signal thats alot of data to move
im sticking with dvb-s for the near future

I have two HVR-4000 cards, they work perfect for DVB-S2 and I can record simultaneously. I cannot get analog to work, TuningAssistant complains about connect pins failed,

failed to connect pinNameTvTunerAnalogAudioOut to pinNameTvAudioTvAudioIn,
failed to connect pinNamedCrossbarVideoDecoerOut to pinNameAnalogVideoIn,
failed to connect pinNameCrossbarAudioDecoderOut to pinNameCaptureAnalogAudioIn.

TuningAssistant then continues to scan for channels and finds none. WinTVfinds the channels OK.

Here is my settings from my direct.ini
