So, did you try a different audio decoder? I'm fairly sure it'll solve your problem on the PC.

Hi Sub, Providing I'm making the correct changes yes I've tried other audio decoders however none of them are working via PC. Like I say though not a major concern as MVP audio seems to be working alright (thought that neither PC nor MVP audio was working but MVP audio seems to be working alright).

What audio decoder are you using?

What type of audio does file have? MPEG1 Layer2, AC3, MPEG2 etc (check with a utility like gspot or avicodec http://avicodec.duby.info/)

Hi Sub, The audio decoder was set to 'System Default'. Tried 'MPEG Audio Decoder' and 'Intervideo Audio Decoder' but no audio.

Shall check the type of audio and post back here.

Neither of those decoders would play AC3 audio, so this may end up being the cause of your problem.

Can AVIcodec be used to determing what audio codec has been used for the Freeview Channel 5 US programs that have been recorded via GB-PVR?.

- Think that I've checked the above using AVIcodec correctly..
Audio: 43MB, 192kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x51 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 (0xc0), Supported.

MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2 should work right?.

I'm not sure what that info you've posted is. What you want to look at is the audio codec name:

I dont really have any more advice for you other than suggesting your try some other audio decoder - I'm pretty sure this is the cause of your problem.
